A big game for the youngsters against a top side who have won their section of their academy league and will include a number of players who have signed professional contracts.
We come to the game with wins in previous rounds against Coventry Sphinx who were a non league side but a much bigger side who were tough opponents, and a great win v Hull City which was probably the best display of the season.
Recent form has been disappointing although the side has had lots of changes with trialists been given a chance to impress adding to the problem of a settled side and a few injuries and players representing their country, a great honour.
With the return to the youth side of young Ravenhill for this game and the return of Bojang from representing his country in the u20s African Cup ( belated congratulations young man you did yourself and the club proud) a return to form is hoped for. The team has a fair sprinkling of first year scholars, generally play good football but perhaps have a tendency to miss and give chances away in both penalty areas being the weakness, but can also play some very attractive football.
A home game v Sheffield United is the attraction awaiting the winners of the tie in the next round let's hope the lads can rise to the occasion and can go on to mix it with the premiership lads.

It will be good for a few to log on and watch this game as the lads have missed out on a lot this season.
They have had to train separate from the first team at the Keepmoat, parents have not been able to watch them play in many of the games because of restrictions although in many cases bringing them in from outlying towns because of travel difficulties and have had many more difficulties that would not be a problem in other seasons.
They deserve a day in the limelight.

Does anyone know what happened?

Good luck to the lads. They're going to need to be at their best to get through as Peterborough won their league and have blooded a few in the first team already.

Bottomley played really well as well , the save 27 minutes into the second half was very good and commanded area well , the young lads played well and tried to play football on that terrible pitch , actually through the penalty looked soft for them
