Title: Happy manager shortlist day.
Post by: northern soul on April 23, 2021, 09:43:33 am
Should start to see some movement in the odds over the next few days, as people are included or rejected.

It's all getting a bit more exciting.....

I’m not sure it is any more exciting NR because we are unlikely to know who has been shortlisted, or rejected.

I'm sure that one or two if not most on the list will tell friends and relatives that they have applied. It doesn't mean that they will get it but worth a wager from those in the know.
I imagine that the club will keep very quiet to save any potential embarrassment for those on the list that are not successful. It also doesn't alienate fans at their club if they are currently employed elsewhere.

The leaks always get out from the candidates as opposed to the club. If you know a candidate is on a short list of 5/6 and you can bet 16 or 20/1 you would wouldn’t you.

Personally I’d be looking to appoint a manager who doesn’t have an agent. SOD didn’t have one and we had 5 great years under him

Well I am really excited about this. We will have some excellent applications and I trust Gavin and the Board to appoint the right one. I'm looking forward to a new and exciting manager and team next season.

I think the fact that your last managerial appointment was with Toll Bar Raggy Arse Wanderers might have had something to do with it.

That's true SS, but I'm sure I could be just as successful with players of a lower standard, given the chance!
