Although it represents a very small part of GDP it has assumed an importance way above its station. It deserves its own thread.
Unfortunately leavers will moan but this is reality, this is what's happening in lil' britain
''UK Fisheries chief executive Jane Sandell complained that the UK government had failed "even to maintain the rights we have had to fish in Norwegian waters for decades".
We showed them all our cards and they just laughed ................
"It will all be imported from the Norwegians, who will continue to sell their fish products to the UK tariff-free, while we are excluded from these waters. Quite simply, this is a disgrace and a national embarrassment."
How can johson & Co claim to be in control and sign of on the trade deals required to claw back the brexit losses of they can't deal with minnows such as this?

There were Cornish fishermen on R4 news last night vitriolicly complaining that they'd been duped into supporting Brexit because they were told it would give them control over British waters. Whereas instead (their words) Johnson's deal had not significantly cut EU quotas in British waters, while putting up huge barriers to them selling their catch to the EU.
They were not a happy bunch.
Still, we took back control so maybe they should just belt up and get on with it.

As an industry with 70% of markets outside the UK, fishing was always likely to lose out heavily from leaving the EU.
Why those in the industry could not see what was in plain sight is a more revealing question about the nature of the campaign and the promotion of convenient myths.

One of the main problems, although declared as 'oven ready there was little or no preparation for what was to come, maybe if they had it would have let the cat out of the bag.

When you look back at what was happening the government was begging industry to get ready and yet they were nowhere near ready themselves.
