Could be on his way out at Portsmouth or his future i in big doubt as pompy look hot new strikers according to there local press
-
He'll do well anywhere that a team is built and plays to his strengths. The question would be whether doing that would bring promotion.
-
But would you have him back, I’m not sure I would if as it looks RW is favours a single striker up front
-
Would love him back. Similar character to Wellens in some respects.
-
How anyone can say they wouldn’t have him back looking at our strike force last season and lack of effort all round since February is quite incredible
-
Of course we would have him back. Good character and good forward
-
Wonder if they still owe us any money from the deal.
I know they tried very hard to sign Stockley she gone to Charlton.
-
I'd drive down to Pompey to pick him up!
-
Save the petrol, Pancho. i know a Pompey fan who's offered to bring him

No matter what you think of Marquis as a person, you can't dispute that he is a top striker at League 1 level.
-

Marquis played as a lone striker for us a lot of the time. I would have him back in a heartbeat personally.
-
Anyone not wanting JM back needs their head looking at
-
Pompey fans have not taken to him, would welcome him back but there doesn’t seem to be anything beyond wishful thinking
-
I'm pretty sure he moved down south for family reasons as much as anything. Obviously situations change and he has to earn a living but I imagine there must be someone in that area that would take a punt on him, can't imagine him coming back here.
It would be a no-brainer if he is interested though.
-
I’d have him back in a heartbeat, but there’s a few teams nearer to him, geographically speaking, within our division that, no doubt, would be keen.
-
Not sure of the financial situation but Jackett has gone to Leyton Orient
-
Wonder if Pompey still owe us money from his move, could be a bargaining tool if and it is a big if he was to come back.
I'm sure the likes of Gillingham or Charlton would be more of a draw if he wanted to stay darn sarf
-
Didn’t he get married the other day and his new wife’s brother is Lewis Dunk
-

Exactly. He would be a hypocrit if he came here and I would imagine he would still command a higher wage than we're prepared to pay.

missed Jacket getting his feet under the table, presumably he should stay longer than at Rotherham .. seen a lot of transfer action at that club and wondered what was going on
got a funny feeling Portsmouth might be short of cash (some American bloke was supposed to be putting the cash in -- they are a fantasy team at the moment -- well the bloke did work for "disney" once ) they seem to be doing eveything possible to get out of this division at the moment ...but not the way their fans want... perhaps they might sign a Norton Disney player next (assuming Norton Disney have a football team
today got rid of a loose cannon
Andy Cannon [Portsmouth - Hull City] Free
Bryn Morris [Portsmouth - Burton] Free

Sunderland released just as many
to borrow a phrase from Keir Starmer "we are seeing a pattern here"

I live in the next village to Norton Disney and they don’t have a football team, the local team are the Bassingham bugle horn (local pub). And no one will be signing anyone from that team, believe me. I watch them sometimes at home games and most of them are built for darts rather than football.

I'd piggy back him up here. John, that is.

Yes he did and she is!
-
That's an in then surely? Isn't the other Dunk at Cambridge? Our new RB will know him well enough if he is.

We prefer the Five Bells, apart from the food my wife likes Aspel cider
-
He needs to go to a team that are going to create 1000 chances a season for him , he might score 20 then
-
We must have created 1500 chances for him a couple of seasons ago.
-
Some people make a big deal of the chances he missed but what about the constant desire (and ability) to get himself into goalscoring positions. If it was that easy to get 20+ goals a season every striker would do it.
-
Work ethic would fit into what Richie wants
-
We've never really replaced him have we. So on that basis I'd consider having him back.
However, it does irk me a bit that his record was considerably better against sides below us rather than sides above us.
-
He's deadly in front of goal, unless it's a penalty. Then the keepers tend to send him the wrong way.

It must be quiet on the Millers,Owls,Blades,Tykes forum without this intellectual gentleman
-
Give FEJ a chance. He bagged 14 goals in a shit side with very little support, see what he can do in a more or less a new side with that support. He deserves that chance and it is very unfair to say any different
-
Pairing Marquis with Fej playing off him would be interesting, I would back that pairing for goals.
-
Deadly ha ha ha
-
He reminds me a bit of Jo Jordan
Not as good looking...

He looks deadly when played in behind, his hold up play is not his strength
-
We will have to disagree on that point I am afraid, I think he brought others, especially wide players, into the game as well as anyone we have had play for us.
-
Managed and coached properly, I think Okenabirhie could be a very good player for us next season.
-

Who is?
-
I think after half a dozen games people will be asking for FEJ to get a contract extension.
-
Definitely think Okenabirhie can have a big season, Bogle started well but his confidence seemed to drain very quickly.
One concern I have about both of these are the amount of games they missed through injury, compare that to how many Marquis missed (despite being kicked from pillar to post in most games)

he played better after he got kicked a few times
