Title: Newcastle Friendly
Post by: tonybuk86 on July 05, 2021, 06:46:13 am
Will copps play for this game as his goodbye for the fans? it makes sense as hes from Newcastle.

Would be awesome if he did this for his goodbye testimonial game against the club he started at.

His first club was Darlington, Newcastle signed him from them and he became a senior pro with the Magpies.

I do not believe this match is for Copps, it hasn't been publicised as such and would be incredibly short notice for such an occasion.

Would have been great to have him turn out against Newcastle as an official/unofficial goodbye to the fans. Seems like an opportunity missed but I can see why Wellens would not want the distraction during his key pre-season routine.

No he won’t be playing, the club said last week his testimonial will be sorted later as this is a warm up exercise and run up to the season

I don't get why we are social distanci g when all restrictions are being lifted on the 19th. Capacity crowds at Wimbledon from today. Why can't we follow suite?
