Bloody hell. We've taken Ben Close off them, and now they might be lumbered with Madger Gomes.

They'll never forgive us.

Madger was going well at Rovers at the start of the last season, but faded and then got injured.  He still went on to play 26 times for us, albeit generally either as a substitute, or he was subbed off.  I think DM liked him and AB wasn't as keen - he may do well with a change of scenery.

He had some clangers but he's an okay player - would be worried if I was a Pompey fan though. Noises there don't suggest any huge signings and he's hardly a step up from Close.

Strange how opinions change, at the start of the season when he knocked in a couple of goals posters were saying good things about him, now totally opposite. For me with the right players around him I think he could do well

I’d be surprised if Cowley signed him. Not good enough.
