1 in 6 games, in all comps.
This could be one for the stattos; are we anywhere near some sort of club record?
-
Pointless thread.
-
Why is it a pointless thread? We have played 6 and created very few chances and don't really look like scoring, on a football fans forum I would think it would get brought up
-
Pointless thread.
it’s a pointless thread because it doesn’t interest him, even it it interests others
-
Pointless thread.
No.. we’ve got a point .

Well PDX and 69 it looks like your answer to the subject is to shut down conversation , Well B******s to that here goes.
The problem as I see it is the front runners are young and inexperienced, talented yes, physically and have the nous experience brings definitely no as yet, and only playing at league level will bring that into their game, being young players in an all round young side it goes one of two ways, it is sink or swim time.
Hopefully there will be a light bulb moment when things come together, one piece of the jig saw coming into the team could make a big difference, I can remember a certain veteran Bobby Collins being introduced into a struggling young Leeds side and changing them from the bottom of the second division to the top team in English football, not that I think it will happen here but we can dream, Collins never gets the accolades he deserves by the way, many ignoring him.
There are also big things that have to happen off the field of play, one I am confident of that is the board having patience for our manager to get things right and be left alone to do so and give him as much help as possible to do so within their and the clubs means. I do not want success as the price of the stability of the club.
The second thing is the patience of the supporters who will have to sit through the development of the side while we build it up, which will take time from the level we are starting at, and with such as 1969 and PDX showing signs of shaking like a shitting dog already, some are going to have a hard time for a while, and the rest of us are going to have to put up with their shouts of anguish for a while along with some others of the usual doom mongers.

Until money is made available nothing will change and that means poor results because we can’t SCORE .. as we haven’t got an available striker who’s fit or likely to joint the club any time soon . Stop being offensive with your negativity and personal comments and use your argument to show how things could be or should be .

What could be means nothing. What has happened is fact, and we only have 1 point. What might happen is hypothetical

I’m far from a doom monger. I said pointless thread because the OP simply pointed out we’d scored 1 goal in 6 games in all competitions. Which is obvious.
-
I think the OP was looking for some sort of answer from any of our interested statto’s?
The immediate problem is, no doubt, in the forward area but that has now been compounded with all 3 of our centre backs carrying injuries of varying severity.
Who’d be DRFC manager right now?
-
Not now as we are struggling to field a side of Saturday according to WR in the free press
-
If I remember right Dutch answered the op last week on a post from Bst
-
The club are surprisingly quiet regarding how we are to maintain a bottom 4 challenge under these most auspicious times, …. I may get my wish afterall…..lol
-

I might be wrong, but I think that was about us losing our opening 3 games.
-
Given that during our worst ever season and the worst ever season by any club in league football history, the most consecutive blanks we drew was three games, this season is truly dreadful.
-
We have played 4 League game. 4 not 40
You would think we had only a few games left to save ourselves the way so many are talking.
I think a grip on reality is needed. This is getting seriously silly on here.
Yes of course we heed a goal scorer in the team, that is obvious.
Do you want RW to bring in someone who is going to give value to the team, someone who will give 100% to the cause week in week out who will score goals at a rate of 1 in 3 Someone with a good fitness record.
Or do you all want RW just to bring in anyone who is masquerading as a striker another Omar Bogle for example.
That would go down well wouldn’t it. Just see this forum then.
Look decent strikers do not fall off trees and they do not usually come cheap even loan ones.
We have 2 strikers injured which is unfortunate, real bad luck but they will be back in a few weeks we are told.
RW will be trying to get THE RIGHT MAN in now not just any old player who does not deliver, one he will get stuck with that he can’t offload.
Ring any bells with anyone that one.
RW is looking long term while doing everything he can to sort out our short term goal scoring problems.
The lack of patience is alarming. The lack of vision is even more alarming,
the blinkers are on it would seem.
We are not going to nor has the club said we are targeting promotion this season.
The aim is to finish as high as possible this season. One game at a time and see where it takes us.
The season lasts for 46 games, not 4, not 10, 15, 20 but 46
For crying out loud let Richie get on with his job and get behind the team home and away. Be the 12th man and all be proper supporters.
We will get through this together as a team both on and off the field. :rtid:

Early last season in the "Blankety blank " era
I remember going on about Wellens and his "duck eggs" meaning not scoring and realised i didn't even start the thread
entitled one goal in six games
So here he is in "deja vu" land once again
One flukey goal ( against us of all teams :crying: )
Where's Bogle when he needs him

Crikey. Looking at that post of mine on 26/8/21. Where did that all go so badly wrong.
The Fiasco with Will Griggs. That’s where. Would he have scored the goals that would have kept is in League 1?
We will never know. Let’s move on. It’s history.
Yes Wellens needs to get his team scoring again. They have a huge lead on points over 4th place so would need a meltdown to not finish top 3.
It can happen though, remember Tranmere Rovers 2012/13. Top iat end of Nov. and ended up finishing 11th
Yes 11th. Quite a nose dive.
Yes we are in January and they are still top but collapses happen. With the position they are in now after 27 games the worst that could happen is they end up in the playoffs.
I don’t think that will happen but Stevenage are favourites for the title as it is now I suspect.
-
Wasn’t Tranmere’s collapse caused by a free scoring forward on loan returning to Wolves in the January?
-
Notts County were up there too, before dropping away.
We did beat both of them away around the time their form dipped?
Mind you, we beat most clubs away that season!

Yes they did lose a striker, began with letter C i think Idler. His name has gone. Can’t remember if it was Wolves.

We won away at Tranmere on Tues eve 23rd Oct. 2-1 with a very late winner. Remember game very well.
Notts County i think was during Nov. Can’t remember score. But we did win.
Just checked County match was the following Sat 27th Oct.
We won 0-2

Jake Cassidy Idler

It was.
I'm pretty sure he actually ended up going back on loan but never rediscovered his form in his second spell.

Thought they were close together..
I went to the county game, goals from Brown and Keegan, and I think it was the game where our opponents had 16 corners and all but one were headed out by Rob Jones..

I remember wondering why Saunders subbed off Billy Paynter at half time. Turned out it was "coming from both ends" as he put it.
