Title: Breakfast

This actually happened yesterday morning at the breakfast counter in the Apple Green services on the N4:
A Polish man in front of me selected his breakfast items from the hot counter - 1 egg, 2 rashers, 1 sausage and a portion of mushrooms.  The thick woman behind the counter asked him ‘Sandwich or Roll” he replied ‘Baguette’.  ‘Sandwich or Roll’ she said louder and more rudely, holding a slice of bread up in one hand and actually a small baguette in the other.  ‘Baguette’ he replied.  She then scooped all the items into a paper bag and handed it to him.  Bag it??
You ought to have seen his face!

I had a strange Breakfast experience many years back

Cafe at ASDA [going down] Scunny. 15 years + back maybe more.

Me & Mrs Wolfie went in and ordered the Breakfast Special on offer for maybe a quid . It had everthing but neither of us ate Sausages and we didnt have a dog. That dates it better as current dog is over 18

So  I said 2 Specials please but no Sausages on either. Ah that will be 4 quid please. Ah says I - they are only a quid each = 2 quid. Yes she says Specials would be but you arent having Specials as you are not having Sausages

So cant I order 2 Specials and right at the last minute you keep the Sausages and sell them to someone who wants them. NO it would be still be 4 quid

I gave in and had 2 Specials and it was very nice and as we took the Plates back to the rack we dropped the 4 Sausages in the bin - I gave them a good send off as they saved us 50pc of the cost of Brekky.

Is anyone else a Count Arthur Strong fan?

Bulent’s cafe has itemised breakfasts numbered.
Arthur: Good morning Bulent, I think I’ll have a number 5 without eggs please.

Bulent: That’s a number 4!

If you’ve never seen it, I strongly recommend Count Arthur Strong: funny, clean, clever comedy. His stage show is even better.

Definitely some inspiration from Harry Worth. There’s a bit of John Shuttleworth there too (he even appears in one episode).

Yes, I agree, Belton. There are definitely some similarities between the three of them.
