Title: Jacob Ramsey
Post by: Bailey Vickerage on October 23, 2021, 12:11:08 am
Scored his first premier league goal for Villa tonight making him the youngest player to score for them in the premier league since Grealish.

What a goal it was too.

The difference in loan players this year has been awful. Richards Sheaf Ramsey Sims etc to Tiago Vilca and Smith

I think in any of the seasons with stronger squads, Galbraith and Dahlberg would have been good additions.

The rest have been rubbish so far.

It left with Moore.

I suspect that Wellens has vastly over promised to the Board on his capability in this area. One of the many problems we've had this season.

Galbraith is our best player.

Because we had to sign players this season as we had no squad that took up most of the budget. Therefore getting good loans would cost more. MCCann apart from a couple of signings got three good loanees spread of two windows. DM brought in good loanees first year and second year but only    two or three signings over two windows. This year we’ve had to replace players who left with permanent signings so using the budget just for loanees as not been possible. I also believe since Covid the free loans for good players are few and far between.

A matter of opinion Karl. Clearly, technically gifted but can get muscled out of games.

Rowe has been the best player for me so far this season. Which sort of sums it up really.

Last 2 seasons posters were slagging off the loan players saying they weren’t as good as Wilkes and Herbie.
Richards in particular got some proper slaggings on here.
Ramsey did too other than on his debut

No players look good when your losing.
Get on a winning run and they will all be world beaters.

Remember last season anyone. Up to January when we were winning those loan players were the best things since sliced bread.

When we were losing from Feb onwards they were all a waste of space.

You’ve only named a few to back up your argument, we had some dreadful loan signings last season

Last season was shocking for loans, we just had way too many. Richards, Smith and Sims (pre injury) we’re the only ones with the “value added” you want from loanees the rest were just L1 players or worse.

This year looks pretty hit and miss too. Galbraith is the only one in that top bracket so far the rest still haven’t done enough to make a call on. The goalkeeper has made quite a few clangers despite generally been decent

Again if we wound the forum back there were loads of negative comments about Richards and Smith. Maybe we only appreciate players once they’ve left us.
By the way Matt Smith 2021-22 version had an excellent game yesterday, needs to be doing that consistently
