Glad to see Tommy in midfield. Defence still looks very unbalanced.

There we have it on with only one player on the bench who is close to league one standard in Bostock. A young centre midfield since Whiteman left. A short term contract Left back because we’ve got to play Rowe further forward. Young probably cheap centre forward because Okenbirhie still injured and he’s been injured since the end of last season and we haven’t got him right. Yet we are expecting this side to get a result tonight.
Where has the level of players gone that we had under DF and the playoff side under McCann.

By the way it’s not got nothing to do with the playing budget.

Rowe could play there, but I think he has done right by putting Rowe in the engine room, hopefully he can drive us forward, to a win.

A lot left because they were loan players, and others were told by the fans and management they were not good enough for League 1 (Blair, May, etc)

You look at the side and wonder who's going to win the ball in what's bound to be a scrap, that's the fundamental problem.  I actually feel the attack has some promise (in terms of staying up). We will see how it goes, nervy and tough one ahead.

I was reading earlier a report where Wellens was bemoaning the fact that he hasn’t been able to field a settled side … then the next team he picks excludes Bostock who he played in the previous game. Ok, if Bostock is nursing a niggling injury, fair enough. If not, Wellens is contradicting himself.

Richie said Bostock wolf be lucky to play but looking at the bench he’s been put there just in case. Otherwise he would have played but he’s not good enough anyway

the only way to get out of this league UPWARDS FOR ROVERS  is with loan player A couple of years ago leicester had good under 23's  eg the ADMIRAL ETC ...   aston villa under 23's have won all 3 matches so they must be good there must b one or two suitable for ROVER S... AND WE HAVE HAD A RELATIONSNSHIP WITH VILLA OVER THE YEARS

Are we going to question the squad depth and ability ahead of EVERY fixture until key players return or we see some incomings in January.?

We all KNOW there are shortfalls at present, it doesn’t need pointing out on every match day thread.!

However we have struggled this season, Crewe are worse.  A win tonight, any old how, is what we need..

5th highest at interceptions for a midfielder in League One and the highest completed forward passer in the league isn't good enough. Some of our fans don't understand football.

I want Rovers to win every game, just believe he’ll go if we lose. I don’t want that, it’s a painful expensive procedure for the club. At the same time I’m undecided about Wellens, there are massive holes in our play.

Cukur tiring now, replaced by Vilca soon?

He's looked knackered since the 1st minute.

Hiwula goal ruled out for offside.

How is it that wide players so often find themselves offside? Can’t they just look across the line before moving forward? For crying out loud, it’s not difficult…is it? :headbang:

A draw when we could have done with a win, a shame but better than losing another away match.

Two extremely poor teams. A draw almost inevitable result.

Horrible performance. We looked to bang it as far away from our goal as possible all the time. No interest in building with possession and probing for openings. Just awful. Crewe were there for the taking tonight because they were no better and we blew it.

Rowe clearly unfit. Barely in the game at all. Did we learn nothing from last weekend?

A 5-0 yellow card count seems harsh?

On the contrary, if we played more direct then we have maybe learnt we have to play differently away from home.
Regarding attempts on goal we’ve absolutely battered them, and came closer to scoring than they did on a few occasions.

Can't really believe we wasted so much time when playing bottom of the league

A point a point, which is more than we’ve got from any other away game this season.

Onwards and upwards, on to the FA Cup

It was never going to be a free flowing game though was it!
It’s a better point for us than them,
Another chance to keep up our decent home form next

a point is a point that is the only positive in that match m, it was like watching 2 bad Sunday league teams, I really can't understand how we have become so bad, I just can't see how we can improve much in the near future

Welcome point, but performance wise it's as bad as it gets. I have no idea what they do in training, but there is no pattern to our play at all, just awful, awful football. I have seen some poor centre forwards over the years, but Cukur is the worst I've seen.

Not really. Combine both sides points totals and you'd still be in the bottom half!

That is as shite a half of football as anyone will ever pay £26 to watch. But we are still in it.

In fairness, the first half was a rollercoaster of Copacabana football compared to the second half.

Not sure what that has to do with getting out the bottom 4
