I've just heard at the Den on Saturday and maybe some other grounds (definitely Brum as it was their idea) that there will be a minutes applause on six minutes in memory of the little boy Arthur who was murdered.
It would be nice if you all took part as well.

Absolutely will. Something worthy of applause, unlike the pathetic BLM stuff we are forced to sit through.
Such a tragic waste of a life and as always, the system fails and people paid to do a job get away with it. Absolute scum some of these social workers.

What a stupid comment from a very silly and immature individual. How on earth do you know how the ‘system’ works? How about holding the parents as the people responsible and accountable for their actions, rather than blame one agency. Or did your brain consider sharing the accountability with the multiple other agencies that have had contact with this poor child.
Idiot.

You really are so naive aren't you? Maybe 'lessons will be learned' again from this eh? Like i said. Naive.

Tell me how I’m naive my friend. I dare say you have no clue what you are talking about in regards to child protection matters, do you?
-
Not in the slightest bit interested mate. A little boy was tortured and died. People still got paid.
-
It’s tragic, there’s no other word. But instead of spouting rubbish on a forum about things you don’t understand, educate yourself a little and think a little bit deeper into how these things occur.
-
OFF TOPIC this should be if it is going to be non football related.
Which it now has become.
-
Apologies campsall, you are correct.
-
A lovely touch from Birmingham & Millwall.
I hope those 2 have a really, really unfortunate time in prison.

Not to disrespect this appalling crime but I’m not sure that every atrocity can make it into the football arena, there are just too many to be considered more deserving than any other…..
Without trying to sound insensitive ( my daughter works in child protection) I can’t imagine what the clapping is for?
A tragic murder, the parental punishment or the failures within our systems….
But I will respect the majority in this case!
-
I remember a certain Axholme Lion whinging about 'non-football' stuff at football matches and saying it shouldn't be allowed.

Instead of medical testing on beagles. People like these 2 should be tortured and put down 6 months later.
-
This is the point I switched off from this character's views - "unlike the pathetic BLM stuff we are forced to sit through.". Totally unrelated and extremely disrespectful.

Dear CDH
I think the consideration should be with the little boy and those who loved him.
Using it as a platform to promote your unrelated wider views and calling social workers “absolute scum” is despicable as much as it is unjustified.
Disgraceful comments that if you had any humanity you would withdraw.

And you too fella - just takes you down to the same level as those who committed the crime.
Ridiculous.

So true. A brief look through their previous posts on this forum is enough to tell you about the type of person we're dealing with here. Stick to Millwall.

The clapping is to send love and respect to Arthur. Nothing more, nothing less.
What’s difficult to understand.?
I’ve had a lot of disagreement with the OP too over the years, but why the hell are folks berating him for highlighting this appalling tragedy on here?
As it happens, albeit irrelevant to this thread, we are foster carers so know quite a bit about child protection.
I cried when I saw this story on the news yesterday, that poor little boy so cruelly mistreated and murdered by those closest to him..
The next story was of an Afghan interpreters family who had escaped the Taliban and had been given a home by an extremely generous lady in Scotland. They had a little boy of a similar age to Arthur..
There is some hope and kindness in this world. In think we could do with more of that on here.
-
Why are people berating the OP? Because he's a hypocrite of the highest order, that's why.
It doesn't mean we don't think it's a tragedy, it is. But it's a separate issue, unless you feel every non-football related tragedy should be virtue signalled every match.
-
Seems a reasonable request remembering a poor little lad who suffered untold horrors. No politics, no judgement of anyone. End of

Virtue signalled.?

Marvellous. An intolerant view from a person criticising somebody that they see as intolerant. Well done.
Judgements about a persons character and presuming they read the Sun. Again, judgment from a person criticising somebody judging others. You can see the hypocrisy here i take it?
If you don't like other people's views then fine. Ignore them instead of subscribing the to the endless cancel culture that seems to pervade society these days.

And no connection to football. Which is what the OP has previously said shouldn't be marked at football matches.
I'm not telling anyone not to do what they want to, it's none of my business. If only the OP was the same.

Guys please don’t argue on here it was a thread started to show respect for a little un who was killed

I get it coming from the Birmingham fans, I get it coming from the local community because they have an association with this terrible tragedy….
-
Apart from the scum who perpetrate child abuse, we ALL have an association with such a terrible tragedy.

I just don't find somebody who criticises an entire cohort of people, i.e. social workers because of this case worth any time or effort to talk to.
Being married to somebody who has been a social worker, having friends that are social workers I know the incredibly tough time they have and the pressures that they are constantly work under, how understaffed they are and how little money there is in the system to support them.
Clearly this is an awful thing that has happened but to talk about people in such a way is ignorant and abhorrent.
-
It’s because of people always having to lay the blame at someone’s door that there’s a shortage of people wanting to carry out this type of very important role and many other roles that winging whining idiots can’t wait to attack
And before anyone asks I have a great knowledge of child protection and the restrictive constraints put on very hard working social workers
That’s not to say that like in all walks of life some aren’t lazy or useless but to categorise them all in this way is a disgrace
-
We can only hope that the feeling of showing respect extends to the lack of shouting 'scab' at six-year-old Mansfield supporters. Or indeed, Mansfield supporters of any age.

There have probably been quite a few more terrible tragedies all over the UK since….your stance is admirable

I agree.. outdated and unnecessary..
