In probably a wasted effort at moving the conversation on, it is interesting that Blackpool are making such a good first of life in the Championship. Lots of Doncaster links in their squad - James Husband, Jerry Yates, Reece James, Keshi Anderson and Tyreece John-Jules. Husband is a regular starter, Yates will end up in double figures in the Championship and Reece James is playing again after being injured I think earlier in the season. John-Jules not scored yet and hasn't played since October, so presume he is injured.

They have their support back too.

They started well but their form has fallen off a cliff - lost 5 of their last 6 and something like 1 win in 10. Keep this up and they’ll be dragged into the relegation scrap.

They are not on a great run but need somewhere between 40 and 45 points to stay up. If it is 45 points, then they need another 15 points from their remaining 21 games, at 0.7 points per game. Peterborough are likely the last relegation place and they would need almost double the point return - around 1.3 points per game to stay up. Blackpool could totally collapse but at 30 points at this stage in the season, you would think relegation was unlikely.

Jerry Yates will end up having a spell at Rovers in a few years time
