I’ve had enough of these frauds masquerading as professional footballers, GM says stick with them, how can you stick with a bunch of players that don’t give a f**k?
-
I think what was most concerning today was that they were trying, but we’re just woeful against a pretty poor side. They didn’t have a clue.

I don’t agree with they were trying. They showed zero fight
-
Not buying that. A trying team runs themselves into the ground for the cause. They don’t do
-
You could pick 11 people out of the stands and they would have put up more of a fight today. The only time Hiwula ran in 75 minutes was to get off the pitch.
The 1997/98 team would beat this lot.
-
Hiwula? Does actually practice with a football in training? I’ve seen 8 year olds control a ball better

We might only end up with one more win than that season. And I'm being serious.
-
We all spend hundreds of pounds a season to support this team.
You'd think they'd all try to give us a bit back in terms of errort.
-
Don’t see much of league 2, I assume it’s going to be even more of a battle and fight than L1.
In that case Hiwula is going to be no use whatsoever. Got to try and get rid of him.

From what I saw of Swindon last night, they have a better team than us right now, no question.
-
It tells you a lot about this team when the biggest cheer of the day was when Hiwula was subbed off!
COYR
-
Liam Hoden gave Hiwula 2 and Bogle 3.
-
“Trying” involves tackling and running, not just standing around waiting for the ball to come to you.

Hiwula did make a tackle, on himself
-
Not one should pick up their wages and think they’ve earned them

Even sat there watching him do that, I still couldn't figure out how he achieved it. Baffling.
-
I'd exclude one or two but without any doubt whatsoever, in general the most gutless, disorganised, talentless and uninspiring bunch of players I've seen at this club in more than 20 years. You simply can not ask fans to get behind that kind of abject, shower of shit week after week when they do nothing to offer any hope.
-
We’ve got a real bunch of shithouses here. If we sign anyone they need to be proper misters. Saying that apparently this lot didn’t like it when Richie shouted at them.
-
Liam Hoden gave Hiwula 2 and Bogle 3.
Very harsh on bogle, won the majority of his headers and tried holding the ball up but had no one around him, he was isolated all game.

Bogle was one of the few to emerge with any credit. As for Hiwula, words fail me!

There seems to be no desire to play, let alone win a football match.
They should count themselves lucky there is not a performance related pay element to the game.
I would not shed out a single penny on loans between now and season end. We need to form a spine of players NOW, that will do us a job in lge 2 next season. There needs to be some very serious planning in what the squad is going to look like for next season straight away. Any loanees we get now are meaningless for next season, unless we look to buy them outright.
-
I am usually a staunch supporter of the team, defending them against criticism when people slate them.
But I am finding myself more and more disillusioned game by game.
To sum it up, I think this is the worst Rovers team I have seen in twenty years.
-
Aside from 97/98 the worst side in the last quarter century was clearly the side Ferguson had in 2015/16 when he went something like 18 games without a win, losing most of them and sending us down to League Two. Anyone who saw that disgrace away at Colchester will back this up. I think on current trajectory, by the end of this season, this team will surpass even the Ferguson debacle though.
-
Just have to hope that these signings under wellens all have a release clause if we get relegated, if not we're stuck with them cos no one will be looking at these players
-
That terrible Ferguson league 1 team would beat these comfortably
-

This. Fleetwood wanted it more & that's unacceptable the very least us supporters should expect is to fight & challenge for every single ball, we didn’t & there's no excuses, sick & tired of hearing them.

There's the rub, I can take being outplayed technically, & going down to an extent, what sticks in the throat is lack of togetherness & battling tooth & nail for the cause. I never saw one ounce of that today.
-
Unacceptable.
To make a team as poor as Fleetwood are look so much better than us.
Showed how poor Fleetwood are that they had to resort to those pathetic time wasting tactics against a team which did not even remotely look like scoring a goal against them.
One shot on target and that was in the 93rd min.
Unacceptable.

We would probably play a bit better if we had Anderson, Bostock, John, Close, Taylor and Fey available. That’s 6 (six) of the starting 11 out. Feels like people forget that.

All but the last two were available for the first part of the season and we were playing shite.

Yes agreed, but we don’t. There is no excuse for that shambles we saw today. They are all pro footballers that were out there. Well supposed to be pro footballers.
Sorry GazLaz there were people with a Rovers shirt on out there who could not give a monkeys.
-
Every team in the league has injuries. The excuses on the same constraints every team in the league faces (tax bill, injuries, covid) this season has been pretty desperate.
-
All the players mentioned and injuries are no excuse for these bunch of cowards we currently are watching

Too many players that are just not good enough for the level.

Ahh yes…
Anderson who captained last seasons capitulation.
Bostock who takes more knocks than a brothel door.
Cameron John, who knows. In and out since he became permanent.
Taylor, certainly miss his pace not sure he’s very productive with the ending, though. L1 Traore?
Fej, we could do with him but he’s hardly great is he? An average L1 striker.
Close? Hasn’t been great for us the little he has played. Who knows.

This is very true. Without them there is a really alarming lack of quality.
What struck me today (to be fair it’s not just today, it’s been much of the season) is the glaring lack of players demanding the ball, and able to take it in tight situations. It seems a long time since we had the likes of Coppinger and Sadlier in those attacking positions that would constantly want the ball and be able to make something happen when they get it. Galbraith certainly doesn’t hide, and Smith always wants to be involved, but you don’t see much of that from the rest and there’s a real lack of quality.
Bogle is getting some praise in this thread and I agree he has a presence. But I think what frustrated Wellens is that he’s so static. There’s nobody moving or demanding the ball in the final third. Half the time Bogle and Hiwula look like they’re doing Peter Kay’s dad run.
Credit to Seaman he looked lively when he came on.

They would all, as individuals, improve us at the minute, as a collective they would improve us out of sight.

You mean like last season when they fell off a Cliff and looked like a bunch of no hopers?
-
We miss Taylor terribly. I know his end product is erratic, but his energy and pace drag the whole team 10-20 yards up the pitch. We have no dynamism without him. None at all.
-
Bogle was more static today than I was. Oh and I was falling a sleep.
After his good first half at Morecambe last week I can’t understand how poor he was today.
Even Dodoo runs occasionally.
Hiwula seriously don’t have the words. How can a player who used to be a good one at this level become so bad? Confidence? fitness? Or is it his brain is scrambled or is it he just could not give a jot?
-
Every team in the league has injuries. The excuses on the same constraints every team in the league faces (tax bill, injuries, covid) this season has been pretty desperate.
I don’t get the argument everyone has injuries,
Not many will have 9 of their starting 11 out, and not many will have a squad as small as ours.
Put that together and it’s going to be tough

Definitely not 9 of our strongest line up.
Both keepers are fit, Galbraith, Rowe, Knoyle, Owulu and Smith all playing.

Agreed dickos. Don’t think anyone could disagree with that. Injuries have decimated us.
Why though are we getting so many long term ones?
The point most of us are making are why are some of our players not giving 100% effort.
If they are giving 100% then they should retire from football tomorrow because they are not good enough to play for a National league North team.
Go get on other job and play for Frickley or Garforth, or Tadcaster.
-
Let’s not forget, a number of these injured players were at the coal face of last seasons capitulation. Saying we would be better off with them is just guess work.
