The scary things about that video are:
A: some will think it’s not a spoof
B: some of those will completely agree with everything he says.

He's the funniest comedian out there at the moment and nine times out of ten he hits the nail on the head.

I heard Jonathan Ross objected to the name of the Rank organisation because he would not be considered for a TV advertising role within the company.

f**k me, getting tested for clap was funnier than that. Is that was passes for politically incorrect comedy these days?

If Al Murray was The Pub Landlord, is this bell end The Pub Bore?

Not when you're in it.

You follow your own post about someone being unfunny with this?

Unbelievable.
Can’t stay folks, I’m just watching the first series of Red Small Person.
-
Whatever next. Perhaps they should just change the capital M to lower case.
I wonder what the campaigner would make of owning an MG midget?
-
Just read about Uncle Bens ( rice branding ) and Lady Antebellum ( now called Lady A) too.
Never knew about these.

Rename Filo as someone must be offended by pastry
-
It can be a bit flakey.
-
The less said about Puff pastry the better

i innocently typed "Bridget the Midget " into google to see who sang it
it turns out "Bridget the Midget " wasn't so innocent as me
turns out she was a porn star in the 1980's
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/9977136/porn-star-bridget-midget-arrested-las-vegas/
-
Let’s take this forum as a microcosm of the rest of the country.
I don’t need to say there are massively diverse opinions on here, but I will be amazed if anyone believes that Midget Gems are offensive.
Just who the f**k are these people who make these decisions on behalf of society?
Who the f**k sat in a meeting and said ‘we must change the name of these sweets because our customers will buy more of them if we do (which is what it boils down to).
Our world is absolutely losing the f**king plot.
-
Society is going crazy, there was a case a few weeks ago where a tourist had taken offence to a road name ‘Darkie Lane’. The local council jumped into action to change the name but couldn’t get the support of the locals. All this because one tourist deemed it may cause offence
World has gone crazy

I once had a pint of Dwarf black finger original….too much froth

A midget gem is a nice person under 4 10”
Life used to be so much simpler with Alf Garnett and Love thy neighbour lampooning life darn sarf!

‘Christmas come late’ but better late than never eh.
This topic will be like ‘open season’ to a bigot like you.
To save you replying, I’ll pen it for you.

I’ve seen a few boozers around the uk called Black Boy.
I assume their days are numbered.
And we are probably not too far from the local White Horse being branded as racist.
Just where do we stop with this ?

There’s one in Retford

The way to stop all this nonsense is not to play the game. Carry on as normal and when someone says they’re offended on behalf of someone by something as ridiculous as this tell them to go away as their views are offending you
People are not there to be dictated to by a very small minority of people
-

Once again Sydney no one has any idea what you’re on about
-
hound does, dickos recommends acetone by the way
-
My wife ordered some bedroom curtains which we later found out had come from China.
They look good but when they’re pulled together still show a slight ‘chink’ of light.
I don’t know where to start regards returning them & for what reason.
-
Sydney I’m assuming that your last statement was meant as some kind of slight towards me
Still not sure what you’re on about but then again most people on here aren’t as your main purpose in life is obviously to annoy and create bad feeling
I sometimes actually envy you living in a world that is detached from reality

I'll take it that a lot of your comments are slights against me phil including your last sentence, but I accept it's a forum and it's hard to raise the standards of some so I like to give like for like, your choice phil

If you can tell me what “ bigot” actually means ….
There are lots of things I don’t like and just need to know if they fall into that category/group?
-
It must be a right old laugh being on the left or woke having zero sense of humour or ever having a chuckle at something silly without having to dissect every word and statement for possible offence.
-
bigot
a person who is obstinately or unreasonably attached to a belief, opinion, or faction, especially one who is prejudiced against or antagonistic towards a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group.
Like some on here that can’t answer any thread on any subject without bringing race into it therefore attempting to fuel racial unease
-
I must admit that the comedian bloke that AL put up was about a funny as our league position. It was almost unwatchable. A bit like Rovers this season. Sorry AL. Each to their own i guess. ;)
That aside, i can honestly say that i have never once bought a packet of midget gems and then instantly thought of, and then subsequently ridiculed people with dwarfism.
What's next for the chop? Ginger Nuts? Gingerbread Men?
I'm actually staggered that Gingerbread men have not yet at least been changed to Gingerbread person.
-
Axeholme you’re on a loser with that mate. Too many people on here and everywhere being offended because they can be not because they are
They’re detached from real life
-
Colin Gingerbread theys. They’re potentially binary and might be gingerbread men when made but might change before they’re bought
-
Does anyone actually have a choice

I think you might be missing the whole point of the clip. It was almost unwatchable because it was meant to demonstrate how life would be almost unlivable if those twerps got their way.
You can either laugh or cry.

Fair point BB. I meant it was unwatchable in terms of comedic value which AL claimed it oozed, which it didn't. For me anyway.
Wokery will continue apace and we all need to continue to ignore it.
This lady who campaigned for the midget gems to have a name change, why does everything have to be changed? Why can't she just point out and highlight that the word 'midget' is now an inappropriate term when directed at a person with dwarfism? That is perfectly reasonable and acceptable and i think most people would probably agree.
It is this need to then proceed to change, cancel or destroy anything that may be associated with the actual word that is excessive zealotry.
In short, IMO it is absolutely fine to call a midget gem sweet a midget gem. It is not fine to call a person with dwarfism a midget. The two are different and have different contexts but this is not enough for some.
-
That sounds like a clip from The Office!
-
Well it is what it is. I think there are much bigger issues in the world tbh but if this lady feels so strongly about it then she's right to stick up for what she believes in. It just feels like you don't know what to say anymore without inadvertently offending someone.
-
The most important point which I feel people are missing is that in most of these ridiculous change complaints it’s not the people or things the wokists apparently feel upset about that are complaining
As I said previously the best way to deal with this type of thing is to ignore it and carry on as normal
The media has a lot to answer for by publicising such garbage and the social media obsessives that see it and then circulate it feeding it
-

I watch a lot of his material and find it all very humorous and thought provoking…..
I guess a few on here are still finding Peter Kay and Michael McIntyre funny……
-
Black Jack penny chews, who remembers them, you can still buy them apparently

They can’t be called ginger bread men because they don’t have a cock and balls, …………………….. or tattoos !

Michael McIntyre! :turd: :turd:
What a BBC lovely he's turned out to be. A sort of housewives favourite. Terrible.
Peter Kay was decent in his day, not so much stand up but Phoenix Nights was a classic.
Much of the mainstream comics are pretty dire. Rhod Gilbert being one such example. It is 100% true that i actually laugh out loud a hell of a lot more simply watching cat videos on the internet than i do watching most comedians these days.
I still love George Carlin even though he was well before my time but i love his bluntness and common sense.

Awwwww jeeeeez …..I’m a chuffin Bigot forchristsake, !
Was going to make a list of what I don’t like but it would be easier to list what I do…..

Stewart Lee for me with Tom Stade adding the belly laugh, and Anthony Jessalink’s “ thoughts and prayers” hits my funny bone……( not for the wokes m afraid)
-
I think Stewart Lee is doing a gig near me this year. I noticed his name on the theatre website under comedy gigs the other day but scrolled past as i've never heard of him before.
What sort of comedy does he do then sha66y?
-
My kind,
If you want to laugh at a funny joke ……move on!
If you want intelligent humour……..come on in………lol..
Plenty on YouTube, but watch a “ Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle” to get a feel….
Go on Netflix and type in Anthony Jessalink …..
-
Black Jacks. I’m that old I can remember buying 8 for a penny and fruit salads
-
Mojos. Half a penny each in the 80's. Bargain!
-
This more like it.
Who can remember when penny toffee chews stopped being a penny
I used to get 50p and it took me to town and back on the bus got me into the swimming baths and a bag of chips
When I tell my kids they think I’m on a wind up

It must be a right old laugh being on the left or woke having zero sense of humour or ever having a chuckle at something silly without having to dissect every word and statement for possible offence.
Being on the left doesn't mean you agree with these decisions. I agree with removal (to a museum) of statues of slavers but stuff like changing the name of Midget Gems is f*cking ridiculous. No one will have been offended by it.
I think you'll also find that 90% of comedians are left of center, you'll be left scraping the barrel with Jim Davidson if you don't find left wing people funny. Try watching Jimmy Carr's latest show, "His Dark Material", he definitely isn't "woke" in it.
-
It is interesting to read people's views on comedy and comedians.
I don't like woke comedy but by the same token i don't like comedians who feel that have carte blanche to say anything risque or offensive just for shock effect. That is equally as pathetic.
I went and watched Frankie Boyle (t**t) at Buxton Opera House about 10 years back and was horrified at the jokes about Madeleine McCann etc and it was abhorrent so i left half way through.
Not because i was shocked but because there are certain topics that should not be mocked or treated with that level of frivolity and callousness.

I take your point and take back the comment of 'the left'.
Jim Davidson's not really very funny any more, he was of a time.
Andrew Lawrence can't get live work because he's been 'cancelled', which is about the same as burning books IMO.
-
Have to say I like Jim Jefferies

I heard a similar story about Jimmy Carr. A couple I know left at the interval because he was "downright obnoxious."
-
Surely people know what they are in for when they go to see Frankie Boyle, Jimmy Carr and the likes?
-
Yeah, sh**e.
There is one stand out comedian today, Peter Kay.
-

I suspect some people are caught out by performers whose live shows differ greatly in content from their TV appearances.

Safe comedy for the blouse nation…..

Yes good point. Definitely me with Frankie Boyle. Rob Brydon was good live though and live to see Paul Merton who is one of the few comics to actually make me laugh. It's not easy lol.
-
I actually like Jimmy Carr and have seen him live. I have to say I’ve not heard anyone use the word Cxxt as often as he did so I could see how some may have found him offensive
-

It's not the foul language that is the main problem, although many comics don't know how to tell a gag without swearing which is a bit disappointing. With Frankie Boyle, he was making jokes about Madeleine McCann and miscarriages amongst other things and just really trying to get a laugh out of sick stuff. All just to make a few quid. Vile individual.

Most just laughing and seemingly going along with it.
I said to my mate i'm off. Can't sit and listen to any more of that.
I guess some people might have found it offensive but sat through it not wanting to spoil the evening of those who they went with maybe?
-
There was probably a mixture of people who share similar hatreds to Boyle, and people who didn't want to be called a Kitson for walking out, in attendance.
-
The only comedian I'd pay to see nowadays is Stewart Lee.
Though I do have a soft spot for Count Arthur Strong.
Might see him next time he's in Donny
-
If the jokes aren't funny, bunging in a load of swearing won't make it so

Seen twice and he never disappoints ,
Have a gander at Anthony Jessalink - “thoughts and prayers” .....I can’t be the only one who thinks hs delivery and timing is brilliant
-
Got to admit I loved Frankie Boyle a few years ago. Jimmy Carr is brilliant
