Someome usually sorts me out with a great answer on here - so I am back lol
Im getting irritating amount of s**t emails as an example Aldi@Voucher Andrex@Toilet. They go to Junk mail ok but I would like to stop them
In the past I would have blocked Fish@Chips.com and that would be that but FishyChips.comwould get through still SO I then found blocking @Chips.com would kill it off whatever prefix they chose
However as the clever people will have noticed there are now never any .co.uk or .com s after the @Chips or Voucher or Toilet and so I cant stop them in the ways I know
I looked at the Properties of Andrex@Toilet to see if the suffix was there but there was almost a Page full of gobbledy gook so any tips gratefully accepted

I get them too, usually given from a name followed by .xyz

Yes I can't get shut .... suspect spammers knew getting rid of suffix @mangos.com was easily blocked and so "hid" the .com
Every time I try to block @whsteveritis Outlook says incorrect Domain yet they don't seem to have countered it yet

On some yes ... But I am getting 10 / 12 a day and 75 PC aren't marked unsubscribe
I also didn't want to alert them I was a live account

Yeah, I get loads too and they are annoying.
I have noticed though that some of them now don’t have the unsubscribe option.
It only takes a second to delete them though.

Quite often if you click unsubscribe on scam type emails it lets the scammer know its a live email address so it gets sold on and on probaly just as easy to delete all from the junk folder if one slips through to your inbox move it to junk and the domain etc

If you unsubscribe this tells those sending these emails that the email address is in use, therefore you’re more likely to be subject to phishing attacks etc. You’re best off putting up with them, just deleting them once you’ve reported them as junk.

If they are going to your junk folder, what's the problem?
You're never going to stop them all as they are continually changing addresses etc. so leave them in junk and they'll be deleted automatically after a set period (at least that's what happens in gmail)

I wouldnt for a moment suggest you copy their email address and join something .. Somesite using their emailaddress

Ive done some work in cyber security. It’s probably a bit late for you but one thing I would highly recommend for anyone accessing the internet is the use of a VPN.
There are some very good service providers out there that charge as little as 1.50 a month.
A lot of these spam companies utilise IP address trackers.And if you have a router at home that stays powered up all the time with no power cuts of switch offs it means your IP address remains constant. Leaving you wide open to interrogation by those who know what they are doing.
Get a VPN. It’s so much more secure.

Meantime do you advocate routinely turning off Router . Could easily put it on a timer for say 3 am till 4 am
For now I have created "rule" to send any @voucher straight to deleted items and will do the same with others if that works

surely if you use one of those electric timers - usually for lights -- you can set the time for the power to be on 99% of the time and have the 5 minutes of being switched off during the early hours - every day -- no reason why this shouldnt work.

oh i forgot to mention and this is important do not get conned by the phrase
"Legitimate Interest"
click on it and you can object and block these "fake legitimate interests"
their is supposed to be a convention according to eu rules and you can report these " inertia granting cookies"
as i keep telling you there are horrific amounts of cookies on the Doncaster Free Press site
that paper being just one of probably 100+ run by the same company ......

Yes CLH I have several electronic timers and was going to shut down from 3am till 4 am
Don't know if longer "off time" would do anything better than say 5 or 10 minutes
Will have to see if it resets to " on" as well rather than sitting on Stand by

On/ off time is irrelevant. If you switch off your router and switch it straight back on the ISP ( internet service provider) immediately assigns you a New IP address.

Do you have a view on the supposed radiation given off by Router ? I found out about that by looking at turning off your router etc. People saying leave it off say midnight to 8 am and you reduce your exposure (albeit slight exposure) be a third straight away
Then part 2 .... What is your take on switching on and off every night pls. Again people seemed to be split 50/50 because the detractors said you will probably bugger up your router long term by constant on offs to save a tiny bit of electric
