Title: Kidderminster
Post by: Goole Rover on February 05, 2022, 01:22:01 pm
I’m fully aware that it’s only half time but what an attitude Kidderminster are showing. They’ve matched the Hammers in every department.

Jimmy O’ Connor assistant manager at Kiddy.
West Ham have been awful. Looks as though they thought they just had to turn up to win.
Hope Kiddy can hang on. West Ham can’t be as bad 2nd half.

Makes you think that there are a number of managers cutting their teeth at non league level, many showing impressive abilities who could maybe make the step up. Yet we appoint a novice for a relegation battle. Go figure.

So if we had appointed a manager from non league you would have been happy with that?

A non league manager with a progressive profile and experience over an untried U18's manager who just happens to be at the club? If it's a choice between the two then it's a no brainer.

Ideally i wanted a higher calibre of manager appointed and neither a non league manager nor GM but we are where we are.

Preston at the back for them is an animal. What a performance thus far.

Most managers don't play.

And if Kidderminster had used your logic they would’ve never appointed him in the first place

Yes but that is Kidderminster in the NLN and they weren't in a relegation battle. Plus he had a couple of games as caretaker before assisting the next manager and then taking over full time when that manager left.

Meanwhile, we are in L1, have bigger aspirations and a bigger profile and we appoint a total rookie who had never managed a senior game and whose caretaker performances were abject, when we were rock bottom of the table.

So, not quite right Dick me old cherry.

Puts our efforts last year against a weaker West Ham team in stark contrast. Remember at the time being massively disappointed that we didn’t even try to lay a glove on them; Kiddie have had a real go and such a shame they conceded that equaliser. Fingers crossed they can squeak through to a penalty shootout!

Missing my point cock
Kidderminster took a chance on a rookie a season or so ago and now you’re saying we should be appointing someone like that
Everyone has to start somewhere

should have had a pen. WH keeper just clattered into their player and wiped him out.

Who said that and when?

Pricey when he kissed JoC on the cheek in the post match interview after the play off win vs Leeds?

No. I'm not missing your point. I also didn't say we should be appointing Russell Penn. I said if we appointed an experienced non league manager with a progressive profile, not necessarily Russell Penn who doesn't yet fit into that category, then i'd rather that than GM.

Anyway, absolutely mortified for Kiddy. Plymouth too also missing a penalty to level in the last minute of ET. Just highlights my point that anyone can compete with anyone on any given day, yet we can barely compete with the likes of f**king Morecambe, Mansfield and Fleetwood.
