Title: Joshua v Usyk
Post by: phil old leake on February 09, 2022, 03:23:19 pm
It’s happening in may according to the BBC

What do people think. Will AJ turn it around

I watched the first one and think he will be beaten again. I’m sure he will be up for it but Usyk for me looked hungrier and more of a fighter

AJ will really have to up his game and work rate , He was outclassed in the first fight and don't think he is good enough to beat him and if he every took on fury he would get beat badly

He’d up his chances of winning by throwing punches lol

Exactly what I was thinking. The biggest frustration in that first fight was him just not letting his hands go. Very weird.

He looks frightened to get hit at times.... possibly because he has a glass chin and Elvis legs

Totally wrong shape for a boxer, all those big bristling muscles just waiting for the lactic acid to kick in, you need a boxers build, Like Fury !!

The reincarnation of Frank Bruno except Big Frank for all his shortcomings had a big heart and boxed the best of the period and put up a decent display, AJ for all his pomp and big backers has never had the heart to be a truly world class boxer. I cant see him getting anything other than his ass handed to him on a plate again by a proper Pro.

That’s a good point Danum.  Physique wise he is very similar to Frank Bruno who was strong as an ox but a bit too immobile

Saying that I wouldn’t have wanted him to punch me

Franks problem was his glass chin

Totally untrue. He was only knocked out once, early in his career, by future World Champion James "Bonecrusher" Smith, in the 10th and final round.

The other 4 defeats of his career were by TKOs; 2 of them against Mike Tyson, one of which was a cut eye.
