GM said he dropped Mipo so he could have extra time to join up with the international squad for a change of scenery.
Not that I don’t get the idea behind it but we are in a place where we need points to stay in the division. We need goals badly and our striker is so bad the manager doesn’t want him available.
Next season we need to really look at the characters we’re getting in. Been an all time low for that imo

Gone on loan for the season to Port Vale in League One. Not sure this comment from their manager is that recognisable to be honest:
“Mipo is a striker who loves to stretch the line and has that pace to be able to run in behind," said Clarke. "He offers us a different skillset to the other strikers we already have. He's heralded as a massive talent at West Ham."

Lol. That reads like West Ham are scrabbling for every penny they can find to put in their transfer pot. They've been bidding for players and failing to get them. A final effort before the window shuts so hyperbolic salesmanship to Clarke...?

They’ve spent about £120m so far this summer and look like spending another £50m on Paqueta. I’m not sure bigging up a reserve so that Port Vale will pay half his wages is really going to help fund any of that!

Best of luck to Vale then. Mipo, on the balance of everything i have seen is atrocious.

Saw enough in his first sub appearance to suggest he can play. Sadly soft have the heart for a relegation battle, which is likely what he'll have this season.

Think his first couple of games over shadow your memory of his last few games where he was fairly decent.

At no point has Mipo been decent and i'm a season ticket holder who saw all his home appearances.

i remember he had a "big head" when at Man U
but this takes some believing
"In October 2019, shortly after his 17th birthday, Odubeko turned down a contract extension with Manchester United in order to sign a three-year-deal with West Ham.[3][5] Over the course of the next two seasons, he excelled with the club's development side and scored 11 goals in 10 appearances in the Premier League 2, winning the competition's Player of the Month award in April 2021 in the process.[6] Odubeko's form at youth level caught the attention of first team manager David Moyes during the 2020–21 season and he made two senior appearances for the campaign, making his debut as a substitute for Michail Antonio in the club's 1–0 FA Cup third round victory over Stockport County, before featuring again in the following round of the competition against his former side United.[7][8][9] Throughout the season, he also trained regularly with the senior team and was named in the club's matchday squad on 18 occasions throughout the Premier League campaign.[10]"
