Since 2001, voter turnout for general elections has remained consistently lower than in any held since 1918. Partisan dealignment means the number of people who once strongly identified with a political party has declined. As of 2018, only 9% of the electorate “very strongly identified” with a political party, compared with nearly half of the same demographic in the 1960s.

You know, i would of never imagined Australia could so boring as to actually want to be a political activist!

It sounds wasted.

And i nearly ended up there a few years ago, sounds like i didn't miss out.

I can agree with that Hound.  Sometimes I feel it’s a case of not voting for who you want in power but voting against the party you don’t
When you look at the behaviour of MPs of all parties and how they behave so detached from the public it no surprise people are not interested

Also the way they behave in parliament. They tend to criticise and bitch at each other rather than discuss in a constructive way

Don’t be too upset living in England you could live under the devolved government in Stormont. The NI government is a joke.
