Title: Message from Hull City
Post by: Stocksbridge Owl on May 01, 2022, 10:59:47 am
It seems that your old mates over in Humberside have a message for you

https://mobile.twitter.com/TommyMagicPants/status/1520397616349122560

We’ll not mention the time they only brought about 12,000 when we played them at Wembley, or when Blades fans outnumbered them at their own ground last season.

I don’t like Hull either.

It still obviously cuts deep with them after all these years :)

Good lord; still biting isn’t it. Although, our winners cup being paraded in front of their fans the following season was a treat too

Hilarious. Patronised by the third biggest club in Hull.

The most pathetic thing about this bell end? If he remembers Sturdy's plane banner lark, he's probably mid 30s, minimum. Yet in 18, bile-suppressed  years, this is the best line he's managed to come up with.

I have wittier thoughts on the vinegar strokes.

Shows there’s not much going on in Hull, that this has stuck in his memory. Years ago and many things happened since then.

I once put 'Hell' instead of 'Hull' in the SatNat by mistake when we played there a few years ago. It still took us there.

I know that, Camps; I'm asking what it's referring to. Something about a plane banner 20 years ago?

Don’t really see the big deal here. We’re football fans, we have long memories and love taking the piss out of others but don’t like having the piss taken out of us.

Guarantee in 20 years time loads of our fans will bang on about Bolton not turning up, Charlton and the waterlogged pitch, and McCann will still be a snake.

When we beat them to the league 2 title in 2003/04 someone flew a plane with a DRFC Champions on a banner over Hull.

The plane was never seen again, it disappeared into the Humberside triangle ;)

And the manner in which we were cheated with the penalty shoot out at Charlton in the play off semi final.

Time for my favourite Hull joke.

Thouands of shelled reptiles escaped from Hull Sea World and took over the city centre. Local police say it's a turtle disaster.

That is quite funny bst.
Sadly one or two posters won’t see the funny side of it.

I chuckled at this. I used to work with a lass from Ull. Her accent was something to behold. Which she would pronounce “behurld”

I lived in Hull and can safely say its considerably worse than living in Doncaster.

The Sand-Le-mere area is nice and surrounding villages. Hull is a place that’s in transition, it’s ugly in places but there are some nice places.
It’s a city the rundown areas are worse than we have.

The football team has had its bad moments in the past but is doing ok at the minute.
It’s a good solid mostly working class place, blighted by drug takers in a small minority, just like we have.

Ha ha, how bitter are those Lemons in Humberside?

It cuts really deep doesn’t it?
Filo. There’s been no Humberside since 1996 mate. It’s in East Riding.

You miss my point, the Cod Heads didn’t like being labelled Humberside either

That’s 19 years ago Wolf. That’s some age for any dog.

That's a fair old innings for a dog Wolfie. At the end of the day, all you can do is give them a good life and I'm sure you did that in abundance. I offer you my sincere condolences mate.

They really are members of the family. I'm sure you gave him the best life possible and he'll have adored you for it.

It gets easier with time.

I know how it feels Wolf, we’ve lost our dog about a month ago. It takes time to process it.

Thanks all for the best wishes and having to lose him was the worst thing I have ever done - except for keeping him far too long before losing him

I still have to reconcile or process those 2 yet but if anyone else gets into that horrendous dilemma nobody but you can decide

Meantime for the future I would give a mention to Serenity of Armthorpe if you want a home visit - Vicki was superb [Serenity by name and by nature] and All Pets at Peace at Epworth were great as we decided to Cremate Jet

It was still the worst day of my life but those 2 really made it much better
