We're all going to die from summer heat induced covid.

Stay home
Stay safe
Protect the NHS

Rinse and repeat.

If I remember correctly it didn't quite get to 100 (or  37.7)  that day

I stayed over and wanted to sleep on Balcony at Hotel as it was so hot.

On the Sunday it did top 100 f I think at Heathrow or somewhere in Kent a then record high

Fact checked myself and was right (amazingly)

This shows that previous record was 37.1 in Cambridgeshire and wasn't broken till August 10th. Well remembered me as I knew it didn't make 100 on the 9th

I was at MK that day to see us open the season against the club robbers .

In those days the MK ground had a temporary uncovered stand behind the goal which housed the away fans .

The sun beat down directly on us , it was ridiculously hot and I can't remember a hotter day than that watching ourselves .

Hope you had managed to shed the winter coat DW lol

At least the ref saw sense and had drinks breaks.

Having been in that stand tyke I can envisage how hot that was, bet some of your fans even had to take the old NCB donkey jacket off

Yes the coat was gone long before I got there. Bloody hot and Orient did well with the " drink lots of water," and they kept fetching more supplies

They let the kids in shade eventually which was sensible and I got it what shade I could in corner by Floodlight pylon

Had to laugh at HT with massive queue for bogs ... Damn I thought but then blokes were saying , this side if you want a pee , our queue is for tap water

I got through a lot drunk about a third of it and 2/3 rds of it went over my head in installments

...and yes after about 10 mins Ref blew his whistle and yes I did think what is THAT for ... Before he pointed to dugouts for drinks

Well done Ref I said probably for the first and last time ever . Good memories almost 19 years ago

This time if year we never see below 100 even in the middle of the night. This will be until mid September.

I was there! I found it too hot so I climbed over the fence and sat in the stand in the shade. A friend of mine had just signed for Orient making his debut in that game. I had a chat with him after the game saying that I thought he had a good game but allowed himself to be bullied by our hugr CF. I can remember him saying no body has said that to me before. He followed that game with a number of yellows and a red . His mother has always held me responsible for his change in approach.
This was a young lad living the dream played a few games for England U19 ,Palace, Orient, Northampton, Shrewsbury, Oxford United, Brentford, Barnet and he turned down a move to Crawley managed by  Dean Saunders, there goes a story,  His career and dream is now over what does he do for a living? "pyramid selling" what a fall.
