As there’s been no mention of it I’ll expand on the release today.
From a rough look round approximately 30 kids were invited to Cantley Park this afternoon, Junior Reds I believe, my Grandson among them.
Each one was given a new away shirt, had a mock contract signing with Gary McS, and they were filmed and photographed doing goal celebrations to be used on the clubs social media.
They were then split into groups for a warm up routine, kick about with players and also lined up for a penalty against whichever player was in goal.
Those kids have had a great afternoon, as my lad said you wouldn’t get this if you were a Man United fan.
The club gets some things wrong, but the engagement with young fans is top class.

Brilliant

Sounds a fab event.

I should also add the players and staff were great with the kids too.
My lad had his old shirt signed by everyone he asked and had photos with everybody.

Great stuff, thanks for sharing.

What a great post.
It’s time we shared & celebrated all the good things our club does in the community.
Thanks for highlighting & sharing what was surely an unforgettable day for all those kids.

My lad was there too, absolutely loved it.
There is an article and video up on DROS now.

Brilliant .. Well done Rovers.

Reading the comments, this sounds like a great day.
Would the Rovers consider doing it for Balding, Overweight 64 year olds?

What about doing it for the over 80s?
I'm asking for BB and Wolfie.

I've just returned from Town Moor, all sweaty and red in the face. My knee hurts.
I've practiced my goal celebration for the cameras. (shirt over head, left arm raised, used sparingly in my Sunday career)
My red and white hooped shirt has shrunk a lot in the wash. However I'm ready, Scawsby if they decided I can be the new face of DRFC. My other knee hurts now.
