So here we go. First proper test? We are unchanged.
-
lets hope we are "fine and eager"* to pepper the Saltford goal
:chair:

Looking forward to a large away attendance, top of the table , not too far away? ... Erm....?
-
Where are they lol
-
Started like most of our games this season, second best. Wish we would come out and look to dominate the ball early when at home more.
-
Too easy. Awful defending. 0-1
-
0:1
-
Anderson injured. Coming off. Long on.
-
We are being utterly outplayed in first 10mins.
-
I blame me. First game I've seen this season, we've not touched the ball.
-

Agreed....... you need to leave early... :coat:
-
Possession 32%:68% to Salford
-
Too much long ball
-
My and alberts first game as well. Too much long ball to Miller
-
This long ball tactic to Miller is dreadful to watch and getting us nowhere.
-
Knowle off as well ffs
-
Knoyle off too (: Faulkner on.
-
Getting cut open like a wedding cake.
Could have been 2 there.
-
Stats beginning to take Rovers back to parity, but they need to make it count.

Yeah, now 41%/59%.
-
If Miller does win these long balls there's no one for the second ball. These tactics are appalling
-
Salford are dirty. Good team but the referee is letting them get away with murder. Come on lads. Getting more into it now.
-
They are the best team we have played so far. Sharper than us. We need to step up!
-
Yet again 20 minutes before we wake up it’s ridiculous that we still haven’t sorted this fault out
-
Much better. Although this referee is f**king abysmal
-
There is definitely a pattern under G Mc of really poor tactics in first half and better in second. Said before over analysis on strengths of other teams. Let concentrate on out strengths, keep the ball on the deck, through midfield rather than long ball game. Expecting a change of tactics at half time yet again
-
Much better. Although this referee is f**king abysmal
Getting his cards out now though....
-
1-1
-
Yesss!!!
-
Get in Hurst!
-
I think you can say it is getting more even!
-
Another injury time goal for Rovers!
-
Yet another late, late goal! How do we do it?
-
7 minutes of extra time, Rovers time to shine!
-
First 30 minutes we were way off it ... last 15 minutes we've been much more combative. Need to keep this intensity in the 2nd half and we can win this.
-
Much better. Although this referee is f**king abysmal
Getting his cards out now though....
Did he book Lund? Hope so, he’s done enough to warrant 3 yellows.
They persistently hit in the back. Nasty.
-
I really want us to beat these c*nts.
-
Much better. Although this referee is f**king abysmal
yes he did
Getting his cards out now though....
Did he book Lund? Hope so, he’s done enough to warrant 3 yellows.
They persistently hit in the back. Nasty.
-
Bad 2/3, good 1/3. They need to come out fighting (not literally) in the second half.

Lund and Hendry in the book for them...
-
I said in the "Let's talk about..." thread this is going to be all about who looks after the ball better. They did it in the first 20 mins and we did it after that. That's going to be the key for the 2nd half.
Got to say Asante Thomas is an excellent player at this level. Pace and power and skill.
-
When Lund was booked… the ref draws the line for the wall. Salford edge forward, then one of their lads moves the ball back a couple of yards. And when the ref blows the whistle for the kick to be taken, another Salford player rushes towards tge ball and clearly encroaches. Should have been carded and the kick retaken.
Obviously they’ve been told to watch if Tomlin has a FK opportunity around the box.
They are clever. Little knees in the back. The tug here and there. Very Scholes.
-
How is the back four lined up since the injuries?
-
I blame me. First game I've seen this season, we've not touched the ball.
My first 17 minutes as couldn't log on straight away, Hurst is some player
-
Back four looks ok. Faulkner is some player. Fearless. Good positional sense. Anticipates well. Gets stuck in.
-
How is the back four lined up since the injuries?
Long on the left side of the Centre halves with Bobby at RB who has done excellent since he came on.
-
It’s a back 3.
-
Good time to score the equalizer
.
-
Good time to score the equalizer
.
Is it 2-2 now?
-
Long off too now !
-
Agard on
-
So all of a sudden we only have two for centre halves out of six? How on earth does this keep happening?
-
We could do worse than offer Andy Butler a short term contract
-
2:1
-
 Yesssss!!!! Hurst again.
-
2-1
-
Beautiful
-
f**k yeahhghgh
Hurst
-
Great sliding ball, composed finish.
-
Tomlin assist
-
Great bit of football
-
Good time to score the equalizer
.
Is it 2-2 now?
.. .before half time.
-
That reverse pass from Molyneux made that goal. Sublime.

Yeah, only joking, les!
-
We need a third, can we hold on to a one goal lead.
-
If Ro-Shaun blocks like that, yes.
-
We need a third, can we hold on to a one goal lead.
Hope so…fast approaching squeaky bum time, eh?
-
Did Anderson’s injury look bad?
-
It's a bit too early to be playing as deep as we are.
-
It's a bit too early to be playing as deep as we are.
I thought that we might be playing deep: Salford now back up to 68% possession.
-
Clayton injury?
-
How long left??
-
Seven added minutes.
-
How long left??
1 plus 7 mins
-
Seven added minutes.
What, 7 minutes? Same as the first half? I can’t take any more!
-
I just applauded Tomlins play! And I'm watching on TV in Canada!!
-
Just a few minutes to go COYR!!!!
-
Let’s hope they don’t do a Rovers and score late, late on!
-
FT
-
I'm at the cricket ground in Lower Slaughter watching Alex. Beautiful ground. But the bloody signal here is giving me heart failure. Have we won yet?!
BobG
-
Brill!!!
-
Great win.
-
Great result…well done Rovers! :woohoo:
-
Reds are going up?
-
Very good win! Fingers crossed re the injuries.
-
Wow. I know there were faults early on but Christ, given the injuries and constant reshuffling of the line up, that’s something else.
-
Big win that.
-
Fantastic performance against a very good team. Especially given the forced changes.
-
Gŕrrrrrrreat win.
-
Great win
-
Did we play well after the first 30 mins?
-
Yes rovers!!! After we rode out their early storm I was confident we would get a result, even with the injuries. It seemd like with every game theres a bigger test to pass and we keep passing with flying colours. Long may it continue...RTiD
-
Did we play well after the first 30 mins?
Yes, in fits and starts. I still think we give it away too cheaply and the added on minutes consisted mainly of defending for our lives and banging it as far away from goal as we could. We need more composure to look after the ball better. Salford were better than us at that but we took our chances so that's that.
-
Shocking ref, and the lady lino didn’t have a clue
-
We could do worse than offer Andy Butler a short term contract
Signed for Farsley Celtic, Dutch!
What a win.

Thanks Monkcaster, a pity :(
So now I think the utility defender in the rumour mill is worth chasing further, even if today's injuries turn out not too bad.
Also think Faulkner has to stay and not go on loan

I think Faulkner will be on the eyeline of several clubs..... hope he wants to stay and progress...

Faulkener looked like he had been playing first team football for a good few years today, un phased by anything and dealt very well with Salfords late onslaught. He will be a big player for us in the future and we need to be tying him down on a long contract as soon as we can.

Get him in on loan then.
A good win today against a very good side. Young Faulkner is one to watch as I though he had a very good game when he came on. Dug in at times when, especially in the first half, we didn’t see much of the ball, keeping our shape well despite the couple of changes in the back four we needed to do.
Onwards and upwards

First time I've seen him properly. For his age I can see what the fuss is about.
-
He's gonna make us millions. 3 year deal on the table please.
