It's a superbly written piece and one I hope all footie fans will enjoy. It certainly resonates with me and my memories of being a young girl just wanting to play footie.

Brilliant that. Thanks for sharing.

One of the real greats in the country's football story. Straddled the amateur and professional eras and never looked out of place.
-
I heard an interview with her the day after the Euro Final and was impressed by her enthusiasm and love of the game.
-
A wonderfully sincere description of her career and love for footy.
-
Brilliant read.

Seems an age since I saw her playing for Everton v The Belles at the KM.
Never the most pleasing on the eye, being gangly but was very effective, covering alot of ground. Managed to stay at the top level for a very long time and played her part in the transformation of the game and fitting she ended her career with a winners medal.

It's going to feel funny watching women's football without Ellen and Jill. They have had such a huge impact and seemed part of the furniture.

However the next generation are pretty good!

That's made me emotional.
I'm getting f*cking soft in my old age.
