But that was a professional, better than them, controlled the game type of performance against a team who'll be at least top 10 (in their own backyard). That was a promotion performance.
-
Yep, early days indeed but it is always better to be top three than bottom three at any stage of the season.
-
We’ve definitely got our act together in a big way but you can see the difference in quality between League One and Two.
-
Honestly this is how I thought we’d be this season. Few wobbly performances early on but looks like we’ve found our feet now. We should be near the top and the fact everyone seems to be underestimating us is fine by me.
Always said 10 games to judge and it’s looking very good for GM.

11v11 thats by far the best weve performed so far. Comfortable throughout and looked as though we had a plan. Faulkner has a bright future, Molyneux and Tomlin too good for this league on current viewing. Looking forward to Mansfield.

It is so good to be optimistic about the season. Such a contrast from last.
I will wait to see how we respond to a couple of poor results first before getting over excited as that hasn't been seen yet. Which is a good thing i guess but defeats are inevitable and i'd like to see how we respond.
I was a bit concerned about GM leaving subs so late as ii thought we might be a bit cream crackered and needed some fresher legs earlier to keep them out but he and the lads dug out the result in the end so huge credit.
Just hope we don't suffer our first loss to those arsewits from Mansfield in our own backyard next Saturday though but like i said, i'm optimistic where as last season i expected defeat every game. We owe them after last season's pathetic FA Cup exit.
COYR!

Bang on.
Game controlled. Job done.

Cracking result that. Looking really good now, and we still (on paper) have had a tough start to the season.

Cracking win and a very good start for you lads .
Couldn't help not replying to the comment about the difference between league one and two .
Jeez , league one is shocking in my opinion God only knows what you lads are watching although pretty successfully and long may it continue .

Title winners. Say no more!

Where are the doom merchants these days, it’s been a long month for them!
-
Excellent. Tomlin & Clayton were class although there wasn't a bad performance. Performance wise we looked after the ball so much better today & had willing runners, well done lads.

What a brilliant game Bobby Faulkner had.
Just turned 18 yrs old and played like a seasoned pro.
Brilliant as has been said he has a big future.
That was some debut. ( starting a league game)

Bobby did really well when he came on last game v Salford. Great to see and great for the lad.

Just had the pleasure of a nice short trip home. A very professional win and could have been more - we would have deserved a bigger win. I listened to BBC Northampton on the way home expecting to hear the usual biased nonsense but was pleasantly surprised. Here's their headlines from their presenter, their co-commentator and even the Cobblers manager, Jon Brady, who i though sounded like a very decent bloke who says it calmly, as it really is. Here's what they said,
Doncaster controlled midfield
No complaints on the penalty - should be a pen every day
Tomlin, Rowe, Clayton and Miller looked great for them, a cut above what we had
They looked like a good, cohesive unit, the best we've seen against Cobblers so far
Deserved the three points.
Both they, and I, agree that the Cobblers will be gutted not to have got that equaliser at the end from Hylton, but they were fair in their assessment that a Doncaster win was the right outcome.
Refreshing!
I'm off to have some tea and then a drink at my local.

Should make clear, the four players above were who they singled out on the radio. I personally would add that I don't think anyone had anything other than a 7/10 or higher today. Bobby Faulkner is going to be some player. He made a couple of minor mistakes (as you'd expect with youth) but recovered both times to put in a lovely recovering challenge.

Just think back to what some people were expecting from the first seven games.
We have already well exceeded expectations after just six of those games.
