So no Rowe in midfield yet kept the two luxury players in whose work rate is not good enough Maxwell on the bench. Let’s hope he’s got it right

Lots of possession at the moment by Rovers, hope we can convert it into goals soon.

Really slacked off the last 5 minutes. Not that urgency that we had at the start of the game. Need to get back on it.

A few chances from long throws. Long missed a big chance from a flick off from a good Clayton corner.

They are growing in to it after we dominated first 15 mins.

They break very quickly - unlike our pedestrian play.

We are losing the ball a lot. First 6/7 mins we were excellent. Since then pretty average at best.

Very interesting quote from the Barrow forum, "Referee is gonna cost this game.... falling for everything fron them". Is this true, or do they have a complex?

I think Clayton being booked just now answers that.

I missed the first 10-15 mins but we’ve been getting battered since then (although not a huge amount of clear cut chances). The only time we’ve seen anything of the ball we’ve given it away and allowed them to threaten our back line. Can’t keep doing it or we’ll lose this comfortably.

36' | Big chance for the home side as Sam McCelland's shot had Rovers scrambling, but McSheffrey's side get of jail.

0-0 | #DRFC | #BARDON

Should have scored

We have no cutting edge at all in midfield. Couple that with some dodgy defending and we’ve been poor overall.

Big chance missed by Rowe straight at the keeper.

We are very vulnerable down our left as Rowe isn’t there most of the time.

Was optimistic till I saw the line up. Manager does not seem to realise Rowe needs to be in midfield.

We really are poor at defending almost comical at times, and far to slow attacking, we should be 4 -1 down at HT.

Not the defenders, nothing in front of them. Midfield totally non existent.

We looked like kicking on a few games ago but it’s back to the performances of early season. GM needs to get us playing consistently with a plan and organisation.

Not enough to put 11 on the pitch and hope for the best

I am now wondering what Maxwell has done to be dropped?
The golden oldies have looked very leggy tonight, and Biggins not much better.

I still think Barrow look a very average team at this level, despite their form, there play is very basic - not sure what that says about us though to have conceded and to be placed on the back foot. All coming from our silly or lazy play.
Title: Re: Barrow v TLOD
Post by: rich1471 on September 13, 2022, 08:43:03 pm
It's to slow ,we needs 15-20 passes to get it forward ,they need 5 to get it into the box ,poor goal to concede
Title: Re: Barrow v TLOD
Post by: anton123 on September 13, 2022, 08:43:24 pm
It’s just walking football from us , Clayton keeps dropping between the defenders and demands the ball every time so now we have stopped looking for the quick counter balls and just expecting Clayton to drop deep and pass to him at a snails pace
Title: Re: Barrow v TLOD
Post by: RugbyRover on September 13, 2022, 08:43:32 pm
Was optimistic till I saw the line up. Manager does not seem to realise Rowe needs to be in midfield.

I'd settle for Clayton being in there.

Seems he wants to play centre back for some reason. Probably because he doesn't have the pace or legs to mix it in midfield.

Very poor. Nothing created. Midfield is an embarrassment frankly. Just getting run ragged. Clayton, Tomlin and Molyneux look like they're playing charity games. Just walking around and knocking the ball about a bit, Molyneux carrying the ball a bit and a few nuts, then f**k all delivery.

Rowe caught out all game. Shocker all around really. Felt bad for Miller tbh.
