Todays team
No Jones on the bench today, replaced by Ben Bottomley, another injury?
COYR
-
Mcsheffrey obviously doesn't rate Maxwell in the slightest. Decent line up... hope to see Close improveme and have a bigger influence.
-
Maxwell struggles with long balls sent his way, I can understand the change.
If we controlled games better he’d be the better pick, but we don’t.
-
Mcsheffrey obviously doesn't rate Maxwell in the slightest
Does make you wonder why he signed him doesn't it ?
-
Disappointed to see Hurst on the bench but a good opportunity for Woltman.
Hope they all take some smelling salts before they go out on the pitch rather than in a state of semi consciousness!
Make things happen!!
-
Not sure how Williams has remained first choice today.
-
Who are the wide men here ?
-
If he goes 3 at the back, Williams, Anderson, and Long, I reckon Knoyle and Molyneux would be the wide men.
-
Worries me that he doesn't rate maxwell because when Rowe is fit that makes me feel that is where Rowe will end up. Maxwell is ok in a team on the front foot getting forward.
-
Molyneux was signed for his goal threat coming in off the right now he’s playing LWB
If it’s wingbacks play Maxwell?!
:headbang:
-
Kristian Dennis out injured.
That's a big miss for them.
-
Another slow start, like statues watching the Carlisle players run through us
-
Rovers under pressure ....again in the first half.
-
Another change of formation yet the same level of performance. If the players aren’t good enough to play expansive football then keep it simple s as nd play 4-4-2 the formation we have actually looked ok playing this season
-
Our gk keeps kicking it out of play.
-
⏱️ 26 | Big chance. A great sweeping move from Rovers. Ben Close takes the ball into the middle of the park, sends Kyle Knoyle clear down the right. Knoyle delivers into the middle and Close strikes first time but Carlisle keeper Tomas Holy bats it away
-
28 | And again from Jonathan Mitchell. From the subsequent corner, the ball is cleared out to Jack Armer, who strikes low throw a crowd of bodies only for Mitchell to push the effort away. This game has come to life
COYR
-
Molyneux doesn't know how to beat a man.
-
The pattern of play clearly against us here. Continues like this and it’s only a matter of time until they score
-
There you go
-
44 | Goal Carlisle
Callum Guy strikes from 25 yards and finds the bottom corner
1-0
COYR
-
Cracking shot but it’s been coming as we allow too much space yet again
-
To be fair that has been coming 14 shots to our 2.
-
Poor defending Rovers they have the first goal.
-
"A good goal from the hosts but a kick in the teeth for Doncaster, who almost put together a solid first 45 minutes.
Just two clean sheets in 14 league games this season."
-
same shit as every week, to scared to try and do any attacking
-
Midfield?? What midfield.
-

No idea who wrote that DBR but they are watching a different game to me
-
In the lead up to that Williams showed their player the outside and then was left for dead in a foot race and allowed the cut back to easily. But that's being picky I suppose
-
GM out !!!
-
Carlisle comms taking the piss out of our hopeful balls forward.
-
Sounds like the same old shit, getting overrun in midfield and them peppering our goal.
-

It ain't been that bad, not great but wouldn't say over run. They have only had 2 real threats that was both well saved by Mitchell. And their keeper made an outstanding stop prior to them.
Think draw at halftime would of been a fair result
-
2 shots to 12 says it all , just no attacking threat in first half , change it half time and we look better but don’t know why he doesn’t start with an attacking attitude
-
We’re definitely not getting overrun in midfield, possession wise we having much more than usual.
Not much threat though.
Need to get players closer to miller
-
Carlisle comms taking the piss out of our hopeful balls forward.
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
Although at this stage I’m tempted to say the real definition of insanity is expecting us to come good under McSheffrey.
-
Carlisle comms taking the piss out of our hopeful balls forward.
And they are right, it’s just aimless punts up to a striker on his own with three defenders to deal with, we just look devoid of ideas and play this way every week.
For their goal it was as usual, us caught trying to defend too deep again, we just never learn.
We have such a static and slow midfield that we try to make the ball do the work but we don’t have the quality to thread the killer balls.
It just looks like every team we play against have a superior drive and work ethic, we by comparison are slow and pondering.
As usual we are in trouble again, let’s see what pearls of wisdom GM can come up with to save this one from the inevitable.
-
2 shots to 12 says it all , just no attacking threat in first half , change it half time and we look better but don’t know why he doesn’t start with an attacking attitude
Many of them 12 shots were pot shots from distance that didn't get anyone out of their seats.
-
f**king awful. Get rid.
-
We normally get a bit better in the 2nd half so can still win this if they take their foot off it.
Same old story with how we are playing though. Seen nothing to suggest there’s a plan other than long balls
-
Same old stuff but there again silly to expect anything different. Our midfield creating nothing ith Williams being beaten for pace. Unfortunately we will be further down the table before the powers that be make an comment and do anything.
-
How long before realises he has set us up with one up front so will soon change it to 2.
-
When we gonna realise that molyneux does not have a long throw and it isn't dangerous?
Plus when was the last time he beat a man, surely Hurst is better
-
Giving it away early in the second half. End of game.
-
53 | Good save initially from Jonathan Mitchell as a driven cross heads towards goal, a great block from the follow-up but Jack Stretton strikes to send the ball spinning home
2-0

Done
-
Clayton gives a two yard pass away then they score
-
Or well silver lining n all that GM out
-
please just leave gm
-
pvo draw prediction looking a stretch now :(
-
If Stretton is credited then it was offside but hapless defending again, Clayton running in treacle. It’s just woeful
-
Can we get some players with pace. Every player gets beat in a foot race.
-
He was offside for the second goal came off the defender
-
Setting your team up on the back foot from the off gives you this result.
Time to go GM you have no idea, period.
-
Same shite different Saturday.
-
He was offside for the second goal came off the defender
Don't think he was. Think he was just being kept onside
-
57 | Thanks to the 477 Rovers fans who have made the trip to Brunton Park this afternoon as part of a 5,600 crowd.
Your support is greatly appreciated, as always
2-0

He was offside for the second goal came off the defender
Don't think he was. Think he was just being kept onside
Aye Tom played him on
-
We are totally devoid of anything looking like an idea, passing straight out of play or side and back, little to know movement and totally dispirited
-
17 shots from Carlisle 2 from us!!!
-
Carlisle commentators are shocked how bad a team we are , devoid of ideas
-
We’re too slow to catch a cold
-
were just worse than last year just playing teams equally as bad
-
Carlisle 18 attempts
Donny 2

Aye Tom played him on
Yep tom lazy getting out.
-
0-3
-
67 | Jack Stretton is sent clear down the right. He has options but goes for goal and powers a shot into the far bottom corner to extend Carlisle's advantage
3-0
Sounds like it should have been offside

Miles on. Tom tried to play offside trap, Roshaun didn't.

Jesus f@cking christ

And I hope that's the final nail in the GM coffin. Embarassing!

Another change for Rovers

Luke Molyneux

Anderson looks very rusty and tired, like he's not match fit. Who'd have guessed that? Aside from every Rovers fan Mcsheffrey thought it would be fine.
-
Time for the manager to go ,this is shocking
-
Their commentator ‘ first time for years Carlisle have scored 3’. ‘We’re bashing Doncaster, it ‘s men against boys’
-
If GM is still manager next week then it shows how much our board care.
-
He has to go tonight. He's been a disastrous appointment from the moment he was put in charge temporarily.
-
And why the f*ck are we now brining Taylor on at 0-3?
-
Thats twice they’ve scored from our attack!
-
It's good job G-Mac has decided to stay off Social Media , i feel at ain't going to be too friendly tonight.
-
Anderson looks very rusty and tired, like he's not match fit. Who'd have guessed that? Aside from every Rovers fan Mcsheffrey thought it would be fine.
The whole back line looks rusty and not match fit. So damn slow, getting beaten for pace everytime
-
It’s going to cost the club a lot to sort this mess out ,serves us right for the shocking appointment of GM we need full new back room staff now as well and about 5 players
-
I don’t think we need to protest much now, the writing is on the wall for him
-
75 | Massive intervention by Ro-Shaun Williams, who gets his head in the way of Owen Moxon's goalbound shot from the edge of the box
3-0
COYR
-
We are very lucky not to be 5 down
-
Still 20 mins left this could end up 5-0 at the rate the games panning out
-
We are very lucky not to be 5 down
Was just about to say the same. What a f**king embarrassment.
-
Give him a contract extension.
-
Williams is poor with his head but he stopped a certain goal there. I don’t think he knew much about it though!
-
Clayton is a liability he need his contact ripping up in jan he’s gone
-
We are just absolutely stinking the place out,
Are we going to wait for us to be undone by a tier 8 team in the FA cup before we act?
-
Clayton is a liability he need his contact ripping up in jan he’s gone
You’ve got to laugh haven’t you
COYR
-
:saywhat:You have to feel for Mcsheffrey... he doesn't even have Maxwell or injuries to blame today.
-
Clayton is a liability he need his contact ripping up in jan he’s gone

COYR
Well our performance today has been laughable.
-
You look at sides who have lower budgets than us, getting young hungry players in and us who give an injury plagued player on big wages a contract extension and wonder why things are going wrong. This is what our performances have deserved it’s just taken this long to happen
-
:that:
-
I’ve said this recently and got poo-pooed, but if Mcsheffrey doesn’t go, we will go down.
-
I wonder what coppinger makes of all this.
-
I wonder what coppinger makes of all this.
Must be happy as he’s head of football operations so it’s down to him to make changes if he’s not
-
I wonder what coppinger makes of all this.
As head of football shouldn't he be telling the very appropriately named chairman to sack him?
-
This has to be GM's last game in charge..
-
This has to be GM's last game in charge..
I'm afraid I wont be surprised if it isn't.
-
Well that made for very hard listening. Another poor performance by Rovers on the road, the away form has not inspired any confidence in recent games so with another one next week something, or one needs to change soonest. Anyway,
Onwards and upwards

Mid table mediocrity.

I hope we draw a decent side in the fa cup. Loss to a non league outfit from a few leagues below looks ominously possible.
