Doncaster gets its  Royal Charter for its city status the day after tomorrow (Nov 1st). Well done and congrats.

I was shocked it was only September 13th 2021   last year

amazing how quick it all happened as I said the Queen had a soft spot for Doncaster.  Ironic that Dunfermline & Doncaster  got the double up.

.....     one of her standing jokes was mentioning the amount of times she would smell fresh paint when carrying out her public duties.

On the  DMBC said there would be celebrations today. It seems things were underwhelming, from my search online.

Wikipedia still lists Doncaster as a town, and not in the list of British cities
