Title: Denmark Election Results
Post by: KeithMyath on November 02, 2022, 08:15:18 am
Having lived there for a few years in the 00's and worked over there on and off I have always been a little jealous of their political system. The willingness of the Left to work with those on the right in a coalition that on the whole bridges the gap, and reduces far left/Right extremism to the margins.

Mette Frederiksen has won again which is great news personally and if she borrows a few votes from the Faroes/Greenland (Also left leaning) she will have the opportunity to form a Left Government for the first time without the Right playin apart. Be interesting to see how that pans out if she does. Especially how the marginalised Right will react. I hope for their sake she does continue with their inclusion of the Right and one day we have a political system that mirrors that sensibility.

The divisive nature of our politics is the one thing I can not stomach here in the UK. I hope that Starmer is being everything to everyone to atleast have the mandate for real political change, but I believe we have far too deep rooted issues now for that to work in the short term.

Israels Netanyahu impending result on the other hand, bringing the Right & Religion together is quite the oppposite of my hopes for the UK.

A far better scenario to what we are stuck with in the UK.
We don’t seem to have enough grown up MPs that can see further than party interests and advancing their own careers.

thanks for posting all that up KM, interesting stuff.

I agree with you both, I think there should be a strong, robust opposition no matter who is in power so misdeeds, idiocy and possibly better solutions can be thrashed out, but politics in my view should not be headlined in the media every day.
