Title: John Bostock
Post by: Draytonian III on November 30, 2022, 10:22:32 pm
Is in talks to join Notts County, he’s been training with them for the last couple of weeks. They are looking to strengthen their squad. I personally think he might find it to physical in the National League

Why doesn’t he just jack it in and do something else? Set up his own mad church or whatever he wants to do next. He’s wasting everyone’s time pretending to be a professional footballer now. He has the ability but he can’t be arsed doing the work. So don’t bother then.

Made his debut for Notts County on 10 December, away at Maidenhead in front of a 1467 gate.

There were people in here, last May, after 18 months of watching Bostock who were convinced he was off to a top end L1 side.

You do have to wonder...

Tbf Notts County are probably a better bet for him than us at the moment. He lives in Nottingham, they are one of the top dogs in the Conference, get bigger crowds than us and his pay is probably greater than what he would have got here. Can't really blame him for signing to them!

He’s playing for a team that is not far off playing top end of L1 standard at the minute to be fair.

Just seen Simon Jordan recount on Talk Sport when Barcelona put a £1.5m bid in for Bostock when aged just 15 and at the Palace Academy - can you imagine a midfield consisting of Xavi, Iniesta, Busquettes and John Bostock, a real sliding door moment - eventually Bostock was sold to Spurs for a knock down price of £600k set by a tribunal much to Jordan’s chagrin.

He played 9 minutes against a side 112th in the pyramid.

I'll be convinced when he's regularly playing more than cameo roles at the top of L2. I won't hold my breath.
