Rumour has it that in the near future airlines will allow the use of mobiles on flights
I hope they don’t. One of the pleasures of flying is not having to listen to people on mobiles. The quietness of the flight and the ability to put my head down
There are plenty of things that can be done on mobiles Laptops and tablets off line. We don’t need to be able to talk to someone not on the plane
Can you imagine sitting on a plane next to someone who feels that they couldn’t go the distance the flight without talking. 3 or more hours listening to their gibberish
People have managed for years without this we don’t need it now.
Planes will become noisy with people shouting down phones
Do other people feel the same way or have people become so obsessed and dependent

I hope this doesn't happen. I fly multiple times a month and enjoy the peace up in the skies.

Totally agree, Phil. It could cause some serious incidents mid flight.

I thought mobiles aren’t able to pick up/ receive calls when they are in the air

Simply tape a few minutes of their conversation and play it back but first check you are bigger than him

Technology was there years ago but it was offered at a very expensive price so never caught on in Cattle Class
Any Business First Class passengers on here tell us whether it's in use there

Couldn't get even get @!#$ internet on the last flight wolfie. I hate flying and don't use the phone that much.

Ryanair will find a way to charge for it.

So will Vodafone...

If the plane has WiFi and it actually works then people will be able to call anyway - don’t particularly agree with it. My main gripe is parents who set the kid up with a tablet to watch/play but then force the rest of the plane to have to listen to it, get some bleeding headphones

I do agree, but have you ever tried to keep headphones on a 3 year old? Sometimes it's a choice between no headphones or toddler meltdown. Peppa pig or screaming child? I know what I'd prefer.
