It's a bit like "PC". Before someone came up with the term "PC", we had a perfectly usable term. "Not being an obnoxious Kitson".
Anyway. I love the idea that, just as -Gate is used to denote a scandal, -Tate might become used to denote a huge, unenforced personally catastrophic f**k-up.

My fear is that there are a lot (OK.... enough or too many) of folks who don't have enough purpose in life to follow shitheads like this and finance the tomfoolery that supports and sustains him.... I personally hope he gets bummed rotten in a Romanian jail and his ill gotten gains are given to charity.

As in I don’t think that’s what led to his arrest. He literally tweeted “Romania” with a picture of the countryside. Can’t find it now though as I think he’s off Twitter.
