Title: How bad a year has it been?

Calendar Year 2022 in Football League Games:
W16 D8 L23, points per game 1.191 (0.851 at 2 per game)

Some of our worst years:
1936: W5 D11 L25, ppg 0.634 (0.512 at 2pg)
1988: W7 D8 L29, ppg 0.659 (0.500 at 2pg)
1958: W8 D7 L27, ppg 0.738 (0.548 at 2pg)

So in pure numbers 2022 not that bad for us, in fact not in our worst 20 years. We have had plenty of downs in our history.

Although entertainment is another matter completely

Note this is considering full years only. In 1904-05 we did not play in the Football League in the seasons before and after. Our dismal record was
1904: W1 D2 L15
1905: W2, D0, L14
