Didn’t he play with Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce in a band?

I can’t remember the name of the band, this was pre Cream I think

The Graham Bond Organisation - tho he left before they ever recorded anything (apparently John fell out with Ginger - not the first, or last, musician to do that!)

Great band. A tragedy when Graham threw himself under a tube train at Finsbury Park.

Well, I never knew that.... And I used to listen to the Mahavishnu Orchestra a bit too.

The only two musicians from Doncaster that I knew of were (to strecth the point) the ballerina Marguerite Porter and Steve Hogarth who after sitting next to me in maths lessons for several years ended up becoming the keyboardist and singer of firstly the Europeans and, secondly, for the last several aeons, Marillion. Oddly, he lives not far from me now too. I recall he had two drop dead gorgeous sisters......

You need to keep up, Bob; you've missed out John Parr as well.

John Parr was born Worksop though , and I always thought when he played with Bitter Suite that he was usually last there cos he lived at Retford or around there

So can't have him I don't think , but does Lesley Garrett count as " a musician" ? Guess not
