He wasn’t a naturally gifted footballer but he made up for it with his grit, determination & leadership qualities:-
Adam Lockwood.
-
Paul Green
-
Lockwood would argue he’s strawberry blonde but Greeny is definitely a ginger nut.
-
I never saw him play live, but was billy bremner any good by the time he appeared for us?
-
Steve Nicol

Careful about praising minorities!!! You will offend someone!!!!!
Does anyone remember when Ian wright told a joke about a ginger, on talksport and someone rang in and called him racist!! Ffs,.

Do we really need to stoop to the pettiness of this thread just to prove a point?
I’m sure the thread in question wasn’t intended to be offensive, nor is it necessarily offensive to discuss a person’s colour, but in 2023 is it really necessary to be drawing the distinction between black players and white players? All it does is exactly what it’s done - create a load of points scoring and grandstanding that benefits nobody.
-
Ian (windy) Miller, superb winger
-
And absolutely no relevance to football ability.
-
Charly Williams?
-
NOT ......Watson but I will mention that he had ginger hair he was the one that went to Rotherham with Dennis Leigh when "we won the lottery" was he called Andy Watson ?
-
Graham "Willie" Watson
-

Read and understood. I had not realised that the (deleted) original thread was not simply “best black player to play for Rovers” which, without the additional context you’ve now explained, would have appeared needlessly divisive to me.
Fair play.
-
Mid-1990s invisible striker Simon Black is surely the answer anyway.
-
Greeny. Although he may argue he is strawberry blonde
-
Didn’t Tony Woodcock have a ginger tinge?
-
Billy Bremner by a mile
Although his best performances were not playing for Rovers. Understatement.
-
Got to be greeny imo, another player who hasn’t been mentioned but shown glimpses during his time with us is Ali Crawford.
