Excludes English, Scottish, Welsh, Northern Irish and also Irish, given for part of our club history since 1879 Ireland was part of Great Britain and disentangling that would be too complicated.
Starter for 10 would be Diouf.
-
Diouf by a country mile.
-
Harry Gregg (Irish sea)
-
Diouf by some distance.
-
Ireland is definitely overthesea. And what about Wales in relation to those in North Devon - is that overseas? And what about Loch Lomond - that's big isn't it? Anyway, I've complained to the mods. Elon Musk etc.
-
Diouf is probably the best player to ever play for us.
-
Must be racism if you call them "foreign"

Peter Doherty
Harry Gregg
Steve Nicol
Billy Bremner
I’ve not included Alick because unfortunately injury robbed him of the chance to maybe better than all of the above

Just for Barmy Rover
let's invent a new term "micro-racist" for example that's when a Southerner takes the pi$$ about us Yorkshiremen keeping ferrets etc
or a Southerner says "ee by gum lad"

Except nobody in the thread before Barmby actually used the word foreign.
-
Honourable mentions for Furmam, Khumalo, Hume, Mulligan, Torfason, Piquionne, van Nieuwstadt and of course Bubalović.

To go a bit further, what about “townism”.
This is when away fans sing the well known song about the place they are visiting and include the fabled line, for example, “Donnys a shithole, I wanna go home”.

I've heard rovers fans sing that Cheltenham was a shithole and they wanted to go home.
Lovely regency Cheltenham! Lacking in imagination

I heard Rovers sing " you dirty Southern b******s" to Tamworth and "you dirty Welsh b******s" to Leek Town so I suppose I can overlook the Doncar-ster thing
-
Some of those Rovers fans who sing those songs wouldn’t even know Doncaster is in Yorkshire.

Calling us Donxstrovers is equally bloody annoying.

Best overseas player ever to play for Rovers?
James Hayter.
