Granted on the temperature but there’s hardly been a sharp frost for the last few weeks, some nights no frost at all

At least if the game's called off we can celebrate Saturday night knowing we still have the points to play for that we'd have lost earlier!

With Wimbledon fans setting off very early on Saturday , what time should a Pitch inspection take place to save them making a wasted journey.
If the Pitch is frozen over night then the shaded areas are definitely not going to thaw out wjth the temperature not getting much above 2 degrees all day.
I would say a decision needs to be made no later than 9am.

John, my guess it won’t be on. The club have an inspection pencilled in for late Friday and two very early on Saturday. The weather overnight on Friday is for very cold weather.

Yeah agreed, no chance. I'm thinking the rugby might go ahead Sunday but Saturday will be a write off.

It's going to be one of those where it's dodgy in the morning but likely to be playable at 3pm.

Definitely should continue to assess it with the travelling fans in mind.
Title: Re: Weather

Should be looking at how it is today, totally thawed out by 1pm and although its going to about -5 overnight, it’s then going to be 4-5 degrees late morning so if the covers are on to limit the over night frost, then it should be playable.

However, with how easy games seem to get called off these days, who knows.
Title: Re: Weather

Would it be a bad thing to call it off, it may just prevent us having to sit through another horror show combined with extreme frustration towards the club in its current dealings.

Then again any inclement weather may just even out the odds for us against anyone at the moment.

Next to no chance of this being on imo, given the games that have been called off this season. Some forecasts have it as low as minus 8 tonight & not getting above freezing until 9 or 10am.
Given the travel it will surely have been called off by then.

I don't know why some people are wanting the game to be off, citing the reason as being that we're so crap just now that many people won't want to go.

We'll still be crap when the game's replayed, and there'll be even less wanting to go on a cold Tuesday night.

We defiantly need the game to go ahead, it must be torture for the players and management sitting on the recent results, they need to get straight back on the horse and gallop away from the nasty ditch. For their own sakes as well as ours.

If there isn’t a positive reaction to Tuesday’s debacle tomorrow then we seriously have a problem.
We need to see that the players really are playing for this manager and are buying into his way of playing. If we create next to nothing again tomorrow then his way of playing with this group of players, in this league is 100% flawed.
That’s if we didn’t know it already.

Earlier I was all for Selby coming in as caretaker but the Beast now gets my vote. I like the cut of his jib. I’m ‘hearing what he’s saying’ and, more importantly, ‘’buying into it’. Total football starts in the next match.

I looked at BBC forecast at 9.00 pm yesterday eve.

It showed -8 degrees YES -8 at 4,5 & 6 am this morning.
Met office showed -1 degree for same hours.
How can one be so different to the other.  Surely the BBC get their info from the Met Office don’t they?

Anyway got up at 7-30 this morning and not even a frost. No ice on car  windscreen either.

So I would assume the match should be on should it not?
Or is it arctic at the lakeside and tropical in Campsall.?

bbc changed to Meteogroup a few years ago. Not as reliable as Met Office. But having said that, none are consistently good. I need to know the weather for my job and have countless apps on my phone that are all drastically different. You just have to pick the bones out of it and take an average somewhere.

Actually CR , no they get their info from the Meteo Group not The Met Office any more

Been doing that for 3 maybe 4 years

Should still be capable of being closer than a 7 degree spread

Only 2 Tuesdays available if it is OFF
28th March & 25th April.

That’s assuming this Tues 14th March is discounted. Very rare any game is re arranged so soon.

Tues 21st March we have Crawley away.

One other Tuesday free is 4th April but as we play Gillingham away on the Friday 7th, so i would very much doubt that date would deem suitable.
We then play Grimsby at home on the following Easter Monday 10th so that rules out Tues 11th.

Tues 18th we are away at Stevenage.

So what I am saying is with a fairly congested end to the season as it stands every effort should be made to play today imo.

Another reason is we need to get back on the horse asap after the Harrogate debacle.

Brilliant. Great news imo.

Now let’s see what this manager and group of players really are.  This is a big game. Has to be a turning point.
If we produce another Sh.t show then should the board be looking for a new manager an experienced one.

Season ticket sales will be a disaster if we have this garbage to watch for 12 more games.
