after us their next three matches are
hard- hard & hard
as I keep telling you Mansfield with their small squad are not a threat especially when they are all injured
plus the upper echelon have a lot of dog eat dog matches
update
Thinking about it the maximum can will get is three XXX meaning tree draws
-
It wouldn’t be a terrible result ,but we could do with winning.
-
…as long as they don’t go for just a draw!
-
Acceptable? A draw would be optimistic, forget acceptable.

Acceptable? A draw would be optimistic, forget acceptable.
But the point is we could really do with winning this game.
Whether it is optimistic or not we can’t afford to lose or we become probably a 50-1 shot for the play offs.
I am no expert on odds as I never bet but I think that might be where we are if we lose.
Draw maybe acceptable but is it enough? It probably still gives us some hope. Maybe 12-1
If we do win though then I think we are down to 5-1 or less to make top 7
These odds are off the top of my head as I am no expert.
This is our biggest game of the season so far imo.

If anyone out there thinks we can make the play offs, they’ve not been watching the previous 35 league games.
To recap, we have 11 league games remaining and we have to run into our season best form to have any hope of making the play offs. We have two senior central midfield players only, a striker who has scored once in the last 17 games, a captain who is clearly injured and who would be evens bet for making the rest of season intact, our best defender away for 2 games at crucial time, a keeper who nobody knows will be available for next few games and a back up who has never played a minute of league football and games to come in the remaining 11 league games that include the second and fourth placed sides, and fundamentally a squad that has shown at no stage this season they have the backbone, commitment and desire to get promoted.
So it could happen, yes. Sure.

No point in turning up then CBcb for remaining 11 games then. Roll on the Cricket season.
It’s not about the last 35 games though is it. They have gone and we have 50 points.
It’s what we do in the last 11 games that counts.
So have Sutton Utd, Barrow and Swindon Town all given up also.
Let’s just finish the season now shall we.
Congratulations to Salford you are in the play offs with Bradford, Stockport and Northampton.
That was easy wasn’t it you didn’t have to play the last 10 /11 games
Look at Bristol Rovers last season. Came from nowhere to get top 3
Port Vale came with a late run to get a play off place.
It ain’t over till the fat lady sings.

I’d love some of whatever you are on! This squad has no Rob Jones type leaders that will drag us through the last remaining 11 games. All yes men until they leave and realise that the majority of other football league clubs have a lot more ambition than ours to be successful.
-
Talk of us being 12/1 shots for the playoffs if we draw today is away with the fairies.
7th place this year is likely to attain something like 75 points.
If we draw today, we need 24 points from the final 10 games to hit that.
We've managed a run like that four times in the last 20 years.
Under Moore when we had the second best first half to a season in our history.
Under Ferguson where we got automatic promotion from this division.
Under O'Driscoll when we won the L1 playoffs.
Under Penney when we won this division.
The current squad might surprise us, but is anyone going to put their hand up and say they think we are as strong, relative to the division, as those 4 were?

Not looking ahead too positively to the cricket season either. Arguably Yorkshire are in worse position this season than last. Given Root, Brook and Bairstow are totally verboten seemingly, we've got probably the weakest batting line up for two decades. The overseas signings are a mystifying bunch.

Disagree Sorry.
YCCC have a very strong squad for a 2nd Div Club this season even without our England Players.
Providing we get no major long term injuries or at least no more than 1 to our best players and any other injuries are very short term then we should win the 2nd division title.
The 2nd Div while not dismissing it is no where near as strong as the 1st Div.
Sorry folks this should really be in Off Topic. Just replying to CBcb’s post.
Any further Cricket I will post in Off Topic.

BST I am not saying for one minute that we will make the play off’s. I am just saying there is no way we should give it up as a goal to aim for with 33 points to play for.
Yes we will need to produce top 3 form, possibly championship winning form in these last 11 games.
However unlikely it is, it is possible. Doing it for 11 games is very different to doing it over 46 games.

If after looking at the available batting options for the county games this season you think there are enough runs there to get promoted, good luck to you sir.

Of course CR. We keep on hoping for the miracle until it is impossible.
My point was that 12/1 after a draw today is hopelessly optimistic. Add a zero and it might be worth a couple of quid.
-
I don't think anyone is saying the team should give up on trying to win every game but the point is it is bonkers as supporters to continue clinging to the belief that this squad has what it takes to get to the playoffs.
-
If we draw today, we don't need top 3 form over the last 10 games to make the play offs. We need form equivalent to 110 points over a season.
-
Acceptable? A draw would be optimistic, forget acceptable.
Bump.
-
In hindsight, a draw would have been acceptable.

In hindsight, a draw would have been acceptable.
Some semblance of a decent effort would have been acceptable. What we saw 2nd half was totally unacceptable.
I am very angry this evening. I can accept losing but can’t accept watching what we witnessed this afternoon.
This manager is treading a very thin line. If we don’t see a serious improvement in the last 10 games then season tickets sales are going to nose dive.
People won’t put up with this dross for another season.
