It’s a shame that he may have got involved in betting. He is an exceptional striker, and should be playing for a bigger club.

Can’t understand quite a few selections that Southgate has made to be fair.
He’s making the same mistake that previous managers have made, selecting by name and reputation rather than current form.

Agree to an extent but form is so transitory that if you selected purely on form you'd be selecting a totally different squad each time. That said there are some players in this squad - Maguire, Mount & Phillips - who probably shouldn't be given their recent game time, although the same could have been said about Maguire at the World Cup and he still played well there.

couldn't agree more SM. Southgate is so cautious that it pervades everything he does. So I suppose its only to be expected that he wasn't prepared to gamble on new faces and prefers to stick with the same old failures
