Title: Crawley v Rovers
Post by: Dabby on March 21, 2023, 06:48:44 pm
Danny Schofield makes three changes.

Tom Anderson, Liam Ravenhill and Caolan Lavery all come into the starting XI.

Don’t understand why TR can’t play midfield is he not up to it and Faulkner at the back. He must be better and definitely more experienced than Liam Ravenhill. Can’t see a win but you never know how

Does anyone think that the squad isn’t behind the manager?  They players get paid regardless of results, but if they don’t care enough to back him, they won’t perform?

I think that’s what happened under butler..

I’m not one for speculation or negativity but surely we should be competing??

Well, against my better judgement and because I have a free evening,I decided to pay for the iFollow coverage.
What an abjectly poor game, Crawley marginally better than us but not setting the game on fire.
Our attacking play is non existent, awful ball retention etc.
I was curious to see how Ravenhill fared when I saw the line up having seen him a couple of times and although he got a couple of decent tackles in, he consistently gave the ball away with poor passes.
Anyway, a very good header by Lavery from a great ball in by Close has put us in front so we now have something to hang on to.
I’m hoping for better things in the second half and I’m hoping too that I don’t fall asleep.

The ball has barely passed the halfway line and the front three just can’t get into the game,

Very difficult to create any forward momentum when all the team turn and look backwards for the easy ball every time. All we seem to do is pass it backwards and then have trouble getting out of our final third, end up hoofing forwards for the same thing to follow on again.

No pattern or reason to our play but tonight we are playing an awful team and we just got lucky.

Bar the Lavery goal we never looked in any position to affect some sort of attacking momentum,

Listened to the game and it was an awful game to listen to. But a point on the road is better than nothing but there needs to be a vast improvement in performance on Saturday to take the pressure off DS.

He’s lost me I can’t support that garbage, he’s a disaster and every game we say that was crap, we seem to get worse the following game

It really is just progressively getting worse, game on game.

We have no idea at all and the players look like they don’t care, shameful position to be in.

With respect. If you’d watched that shower of white, you may have a less flattering opinion. Not only was that two points thrown, it was utterly turgid to watch. Conceding in the final stages of the game. Again. Zero game management. And it’s getting worse and worse with every game.

gloster.  It was a dire performance mate.
I can't say anything about the Salford game because i haven't seen it but tonight was really poor.

I can assure you we were very, very lucky to get a point.
Unfortunately I don't think there is any improvement in this team and the management let alone a vast one. I am expecting a loss on Saturday!
