Whiteman has a deal at Preston North End until the summer of 2024 ie the end of next season.

I have no basis or knowledge whatsoever of the situation, only speculation. But I would be very (pleasantly) surprised if we had a sell on clause. I always reckoned they were put in contracts when selling a young player that was likely to improve significantly. I don't think Moore in particular, and maybe thus others in the club, would have put Alfie in that category at that time.
And for the record I have always been a big Alfie fan, heavily swayed of course by his wonderfully engaging character. I was sad to see him go and delighted for him that he has done so well.

what don’t you get??May was at the edge of the penalty area when the shot came yet he still beat. 3 or 4 Wednesday defenders to the ball when it came back off the keeper and the Wednesday players must of been 3 or 4 yards closer to goal
