Title: Forced into a formation change
Post by: Filo on March 25, 2023, 05:25:15 pm
And we start to look a bit better, come out second half flying and then we shoot ourselves in the foot, the what does the master tactician do? Go back to his favourite formation, that doesn’t work, he needs sacking today!

He may say the fans are happy with the loss, to a team in 3rd place

The fans are bored to death, we are going nowhere with him in charge, but I’m sure he’ll trot out the injury excuse, Northampton were’nt that good, but teams don’t have to be that good to beat us

What he does need to do is explain to us why we are so weak, slow, gutless and devoid of any resemblance to a football team in a pro league.

It looks to me like we are back to our usual ways of getting players injured in every game we play, is this for real or have the players cottoned onto to a way to get themselves out of this shitshow?

it’s no coincidence that more players end up (hide) in the physios room when the going gets tough.

There's no urgency anywhere, Schofield stands on the side completely devoid of emotion or passion. At 2-0 down 85mins in we won a goal kick near the corner flag and they knocked the ball away (like they did all day) and both of our players near the ball just left it and slowly jogged back in to position. If they honestly were up for the fight and had any belief they'd have sprinted for that to get it back in to play for us. It's rotten all the way through. Schofield needs to go.

He's turned the side into a parody of himself, we don't complain, we don't talk or shout encouragement to each other, we confuse ourselves and tie ourselves up in knots trying to play a system that's just not working for us.

In short give the impression of a work in progress with our staid and structured game but the reality is we are lost in ourselves trying to be something we are not.

We are the kid in the sweet shop, don't know where to start to much in front of us and we cant make a sensible decision because we are blinded by the thought of what we could have.

Major reset needed, now not in Jan when this has been repeated all over again.

At first I thought he had gone 4 3 3 but quickly deleted my post when within minutes we were back to 5 3 1 1

I couldn’t believe he had gone 5 at the back again, especially when we looked better in a 4

Didn't he say he is process driven & that's just how he is? It's absolute lunacy.

He’s not process driven at all. He just thinks he is.

The Northampton gaffer was screaming, shouting and swearing at his side’s mistakes at 2-0 up. There’s a man on the Rovers first team staff with bright blonde hair, who as he came out the tunnel slyly pointed at him looking at the Rovers bench sniggering. Says everything about the attitude at this club. Passion and high standards is seen as something to be laughed at.

Schofield stood silent all game. Gribble clapped like a seal when our defence completed 2 passes to each other.

Complete reset needed. These lot are not winning or achieving anything. I don’t care how nice and positive they are. It’s delusional at this point.

Not saying it’s all his fault but this was the risk of Coppinger being HoF, he can’t see it from an outsider’s objective perspective.

On the pitch Northampton didn’t play that well but you can see the basics of a team and tactics they had for this league:

- Don’t try intricate play from the goalkeeper and back line
- Battlers in midfield
- Direct wingers
- A physical striker

Let’s not forget that they also injury-ravaged.

The media and journalists associated with Rovers need to start asking serious questions or else the excuses will just continue.

Is this really a quality we want from a top manager? Do one thing and one thing only without fail!? Even if it worked teams figure you out and adapt. If he’s going to make it he has to find some flexibility.

Imagine getting sacked and you think back did you give it your all? You tried one thing and it didn’t work. You did it repeatedly until a club who is desperate not to sack you had to do it. Hang your head in shame. Won’t get another football league job after this and rightly so

if he says it enough times I guess he starts to believe it. At the end of the day it’s just words. And that’s all he’s got. Fundamentals, processes blah blah blah. I assume they’re told say all this bullshit at coaching school to try and dazzle us into believing he knows what he’s doing. “Bullshit baffles brains” as my old man used to say. But we see through him. It’s actually toe curlingly embarrassing now.

…and this despite the fact that we only made 10 tackles to Northampton’s 24! This pattern is typical and you often wonder if Rovers’ number is exaggerated or includes a tentative boot in the direction of the man in possession. Real tackling is not on the curriculum.

To top today off I've just seen on Twitter that Nelson left the England game on crutches.

Driving home caught part of his interview on Dee Dah before my signal ran out.
He is deluded,
We were on top at the end of the 1st half and again in the 2nd but you can't alllow for mistakes.
Was Mitchel fit,
Yes he had 2 days hard training and declared himself fit.
But was he medically fit?
He declared himself fit.
There were some good periods during the game and good performances
What planet is he on? I don't normally call for change but he has to go. He is not good enough, his tactics aren't good enough and the players aren't good enough to play the way he wants
