I believe it's fairly common knowledge that there is a lack of street parking around Harrogate Towns ground, so I thought I might offer a few tips:
You can park at the Cedar Court Hotel on York Place on a Harrogate Town matchday, all day for £5. It's a 15 minute walk into town, and a 15 minute walk to the ground.
If walking far is an issue you can use the Hospital Car Park which is barely 5 minutes away, from memory 3 hours is around £5.
If, like me, your to tight to pay, you might get lucky with Wedderburn Avenue, Woodland Avenue and Woodlands Drive, just off Wetherby Road after the traffic lights at the Woodlands Pub. Any furter up towards the ground is residential/parking discs. (Actually, you may be able to park in the Woodlands car park if you go there for a pre match pint unsure:). If you turn left at the Woodlands traffic lights you may get parked on a side road off Hookstone Road. Right at the lights take you down Hookstone Chase, again you may get lucky down there. These areas aren't restricted
You may get lucky around Christ Church and The Empress pub (which is slightly closer than The Woodlands to the ground). Some side roads near the church are unrestricted, others require aparking disc with a 3 hour limit.
If your going for a few pints in the town centre and don't want to walk, there is a bus that stops right outside the ground. I think it's X70
As for me, it's a 30 minute walk from my house. After 51 years my first ever away game at home :s

Someone might want to pay you a few quid to park on your drive and walk to the ground with you.

I’ve booked someone’s drive via Your Parking Space 0.4miles away
-
Just booked Morrisons for £2.20. 20/25 minute walk by looks of it.
App: YourParkingSpace

Happy to do that, although, working on the assumption most people are travelling from Donny, I'm a couple of miles the other side of Town's ground. They'd be walking back from where they came from. Twice.

Thanks HR
Im going for the Cedar Court Hotel and Little Ale House "combo"
Oh and 1-2 although I'm not as sure of that bit as I am the other 2 bits :scarf:
-
Used that parking app and booked some dudes driveway on Wayside Crescent.
-
I’m booked in on St Andrews St it’s a great app
-
Booked at asda £2 , 5 minutes to town 20 minutes to the ground great app
-
I've been done , well technically I have "done myself"
-
I paid £5:40 for a spot at Sainsbury’s. 15 minute walk and booked from 2 to 5:30.
Are there any pubs on the walk to the ground or can you get a pint in the ground?
A quick pint might calm my nerves.
-
Your walk from Sainsbury's will take you right past the Woodlands pub. No beer inside the ground. Looking forward to my first home away game. Bloody typical that I have a family party to go to in Donny tonight though.

Fell a bit silly myself now. Everyone else is ahead of the game with this parking app malarkey. :s

Thanks Funk. Will certainly try a pint there.
-
Got there for 1 plenty of street parking near ground
-
Loads of off road parking opposite the ground, feel like I've been robbed paying for someone's drive.
-
Me too Adam but at least you knew you had one lol
-
Thought it might be worth bumping this post from our last visit to Harrogate. ( That's the royal we, as I live in Harrogate!)
An update from the opening post is that there is quite a bit of street parking around Christchurch / The Stray / Empress Pub, that DOESN'T require a Parking Disc or permit on a Saturday.
-
I did Cedar Court and Little Ale House last season as above. £5 for parking and still is
However with ladies in tow I've gone for ASDA at £2.19 this time plus Little Ale House again
Nowt wrong with Cedar Court but the "going" across The Stray will be bottomless - trust me !
Picking up on HRs Street Parking tip I am sure there were lots of cars just outside Cedar Court and Im sure Street Parking was allowed on a Saturday but probably not worth checking unless you can then book Cedar Court online if parking spots already taken outside

Thanks HR. I’m too tight to pay for parking so appreciate your advice regarding street parking

Your comment "You may get lucky around Christ Church..." took me off in a different direction :).

That sounds like a man speaking from experience lol!
-
Remember it’s a 1pm kick off for those who have booked parking from 2pm to 5.30pm
-
Harrogate Hospital has recently changed how its car park operates. It used to be 'collect a ticket on the way in then pay at a machine when leaving', but now it photos your registration plate on entering and leaving and I don't know how you're meant to pay, or how much. So be careful. It's a pig to get into when it's busy anyway as there's only one small entrance for the whole hospital.
-
I never ended up using my booked parking last year as there’s loads of road parking under a 5 minute walk to the ground. Looking at google maps it was a street off of Cawthorn Avenue.
Not going this year but I wouldn’t recommend booking parking for it.
-
Parking at the multi storey in town centre then going to the nice Greek restaurant
-
Bedale, if it is the Mykonos Bar & Grill I can heartily recommend it. We went after the game last season.
-
Thought I'd bump this again!
Parking should be a little bit easier around the streets close to Town's ground as alot of the residential restictions in place on Saturdays, don't apply after 6pm.
-
Won’t there be more residents cars parked there though after they get home from work?
-
I parked on wayside walk last time. Plenty of easy street parking opposite the ground wayside avenue area
-

True. I was refering to the parking restrictions around the Stray, Christcurch and Empress Pub. It's quite a big area and theres not alot of houses.
-
Fair enough.
I don’t know enough about Harrogate so thought the area you were on about was residential streets.
-
No problem Hound. I probably should have been a bit more specific.
-
Thanks for the helpful advice Harrogate Rover, I've booked the Cedar Court for £5.75 (including the annoying 75p service charge!).
-
On previous visits we have never hd an issue parking on the streets around the Wedderburn Road area... only a 5ish minute walk to the ground.
-
That park thing about 15 minutes (may be more, haven't checked the map) is usually a good shout, lots of street parking through the green area if you're struggling.
