Title: Nobody wanted this.
Post by: Canadian Rover on April 18, 2023, 09:39:01 am
This post may well date itself very badly very quickly especially if we somehow batter Stevenage and then go on a great run.

We likely won't.

One thing I want to remind the directors and staff at DRFC (if you are reading.)

Nobody wanted this. We aren't happy to be in this position.

It's true many were sceptical of the appointment (not of Danny personally) but of someone without the relevant experience yet again. But we ALL want (and wanted him to succeed when appointed).

We didn't want to see Big Tom to be injured so often, we didn't want Mitchell to have such a bad season or for Jon Taylor to be so unlucky with his career (well apart from when he was at Rotherham).

The point is we all wanted success for the players and staff of Doncaster Rovers.

So please don't deam all the support as moaners and for being unreasonable or impatient. We all had a desire for good football and
wanted to be happy supporting and spectating our team.

We wanted and still want to enjoy football. We all want to be happy.

Dare to dream.

All I wanted was being optimistic of having a chance of winning

At the beginning of 21/22 season in meet the owners TB said we would find our level when asked about ambition. Well he’s now realised without extra funding our level could be lower than the football league. He now said we don’t want to be in league two and we are better than that. Well we are not the results have shown that. Although nobody wanted what we achieved in the last 2.5 seasons, this is where we are. Actions required from all levels at the club understanding of the problems we have. We didn’t have the resources or the players for a top three finish or to Bounce Back Decisively yet our Chairman believed we had.
