Two exposures to the genuine weirdness of Leeds fans that day.

1) Our second kid had been born only a few weeks before and we were visiting relatives in Reading for the Bank Holiday. So I got the train to London from there. It had come from Yeovil. Packed full of middle aged florid faces in Leeds shirts. I gets on with my Donny shirt on and walked down the aisle, cheerfully confident. Every one of them looked away as I looked at them, and several muttered in a West Country sotto voce "Eee's a Daaarny faaarrn."

2) Returning after the match late that evening, there was no one in the forecourt of Reading station except a weaselly little middle aged scrote in a Leeds shirt. He clocked me in my Donny shirt and shouted to the world (and you have to imagine this in Phil Daniels's accent) " 'Kat aaat kaaaarnt. Eee's 'avin' a larrrff" before running off.

It was nice that we didn't only ruin the day for Leeds fans from Leeds.

A day I got to share with my old fella & my Nana (RIP). Remember seeing a Leeds fan dressed as David Prutton to which my dad quickly quipped

"You'll need more than Jesus to save you today, son."

Jesus/Prutton gave my nana a quick kiss on the cheek so must not have been a bad lad despite his allegiances.
