Really enjoyed his set earlier, perfect performance

Yes, I thought he was very good. He seemed to gain more confidence with every song. It looked like he didn't want to go off at the end.
-
A long turnaround from him turning his back on the music industry & becoming a Muslim & teaching in Bradford then returning to America & writing/performing music again.
If you’re given ‘a gift’, surely that’s why you’re here, at this moment in time to ‘make the world a better place’ with that ‘gift’?
No need to chase other causes?

How can anyone of a right mind support someone like him who agreed and supported the Fatwa on Salman Rushdie and to my knowledge has never backtracked on that opinion?

I remember Bob Dylan doing a set on America’s version of Band Aid.
When he’d finished to rapturous applause he said, (with all the sage wiseness he must have gathered over the years), “I hope some of this money goes to help the American farmers”.
Rock stars eh!
-
Appearing on Desert Island Discs, he said: “I was certainly not prepared or equipped to deal with shark-toothed journalists and the whole way in which the media spins stories.
“I was cleverly framed, I would say, by certain questions, where I couldn’t for instance rewrite the 10 Commandments. You can’t expect me to do that.
“At the same time I never actually ever supported the fatwa. I even wrote a whole press statement which, very early on, which the press ignored – completely ignored.
“They went for the one which was written by the journalist who originally wrote the story. And so I had to live through that.”
But don't let it spoil your opinion

And out of that came Farm Aid
, The Farm Aid Festival
Since 1985, Farm Aid has raised more than $70 million to help family farmers thrive all over the country while inspiring millions of people to take part in the Good Food
as you say Rock Stars eh!

Was this before or after he appeared live on TV denouncing Rushdie, i haven't the time now but apparently footage exists online.
-
It would suggest it was after the alleged denouncing, as you put it When you do have time I'm sure you'll find it if it supports your opinion
