Post by: Chris Black come back on July 16, 2023, 08:39:54 pm
On trial at Stevenage. Played yesterday in their friendly away at Stamford AFC of the Southern League Premier Division Central (seventh tier). Stevenage lost 2-1.

We've not had many worse than him

His last career goal was actually for us, on 23 April 2022 at home in a 2-0 win against Burton Albion.

Horrendous footballer. How he gets continued league one interest is beyond me. If he signs for them he will get dog’s abuse from Evans every week.

Joe Dontdont would be more accurate under the Trades Description Act.

The Athletic has done an interview with him this week. I don’t subscribe but it looks a decent length article.

Nothing article really. Bit of talk about the players he came through at Leicester with, what he learned in the academy and the Leicester blueprint (apparently he’s very resilient…) and talk about the hat trick on his league cup debut followed by his Premier League debut but barely anything about his subsequent move and career since. Really weird tone as well - reads as though he had a successful career at Leicester as opposed to a couple of cup games and an 18 minute in the league. Wouldn’t surprise me if his agent knows the writer or an editor and has greased a palm or two to get some column inches whilst he’s looking for a club.

He has signed for Doğan Türk Birliği in the K-Pet Super League, governed by the Cyprus Turkish Football Federation. This is the north of Cyprus, the weaker of the two Cypriot leagues.

He’ll find his level eventually.

Is the word "Super" being devalued by football administrators?

It’s quite hard to place the strength of this league, as the ‘National’ association isn’t recognised as such. North Cyprus sits within the Confederation of Independent Football Associations (COINFA) with sides such as Cornwall, Kashmir and the Armenian Argentine Community ie places that don’t actually exist as such or have independence but where there is an independence movement. Suffice to say the North Cypriot league is unlikely to be very strong, perhaps National League North level? I’m guessing.

Just had a look at some of the teams lining up in National League North this season:-

Chester
Darlington
Kings Lynn
Scunthorpe
Southport

Rovers have crossed swords with all of them in varying competitions.
Makes you a tad more thankful for what you have.

And Hereford and Boston, as well as the Scarborough pheonix club.

If he is on trial, I hope they find him guilty of inpersonating a footballer.

Season opener tomorrow for Doğan Türk Birliği away at Alsancak Yeşilova SK. Be interesting to see how Dodoo performs at this level. It looks a fairly amateur league to be honest.

Now appears to be back playing and scored his first and to date only goal, scoring the second in a 6-0 demolition of Pera L. Gençler Birliği SK by Doğan Türk Birliği on 15 October.

I refuse to read that rag so don’t know if it’s misreported or misunderstood but he didn’t score a hat trick on his PL debut, it was on his Leicester debut against a lower league side (L1/L2?) in the League Cup. Think he only managed 15 minutes or so in the Premier League ever.

Left Doğan Türk Birliği in the K-Pet Super League in January when his contract was terminated. Unsurprisingly a mixed picture, made debut in September and managed 11 appearances, scoring just the one goal. Been a free agent since then.

Watching Ironside play his heart out every game, and keep banging in the goals this year makes this all seem like a bad dream!

On the list of recent donkeys, I don't think Dodoo is top of the list - he showed occasional glimpses of not being terrible and scored a couple of decent goals. Definitely not WAP though! List of recent donkeys in order below!
1. Cukur
2. Hiwula
3. Agard
4. Griffiths
5. Dodoo
6. Bogle

The mention of all these far too recent ex players is making me feel unwell.
Talk about absolute dross.

Just scored on his debut for Solihull Moors away to Altrincham in the National League. On a short term deal until the end of the season.

That’s a brave move, taking a penalty on debut.
If he misses he gets off to a very bad start with his new club.
