Striker Modou Faal on a season-long loan from West Brom.
-
Did well at Fylde at back end of last season in NLN. 10 in 11 league games for them.
-
… and in only 3 months before he was recalled I think!
-
Don't know anything about him but what Miller and Ironside both lack is serious pace so maybe this lad has been brought in to get behind defences.
-
Be great to have Mo-Jo up top
-
Looks an exciting prospect on paper, welcome Modou.
-
He's a big lad. Maybe cover if Miller is nursing a long-term problem. Can't see Griffiths being match-fit anytime soon nor Lavery and both still on the transfer list.
-
6'4" target man, so he's a different option to Miller in particular. Gives us a good plan B and able to mix it when we need to - watching the weekend and cup highlights League 2 still seems to have high proportion of big lumps at both ends so should help. Welcome big man.

Yes I wonder if it's anything to do with GM saying George is playing through the pain barrier.
Ironside I'm guessing wll still be 1st choice though

Based on how hungry George looked on Tuesday if he's fit I think he's staked a massive claim to start after Joe was quiet on Saturday. Nice to have proper options again now though, rather than debate the least shite option to play!
-
With all the injury time expected this season then it is imperative to have a plan B, an ability to go really direct late in games and put the opposing teams under pressure as the late minutes tick by, so if this young lad is anything like Sotona and Roberts then that bodes well.
-
Puts even more pressure now on te striker with the shirt, any hint of a drop off in form and we have a viable replacement.
Also as above great to have this type of option when you get 14 mins of injury time, the last thing a tiring defence wants to see is a big, strong striker coming on to make their day even worse.
Looks like GM wants to cover all bases and get a proper tune out of his squad, spot on.
-
There's a photo of him towering over Cliff Byrne. Big lad.
-
Did they have to curry favour with the baggies to sign him?

"Faal is on fire, your backside is terrified!"

I don't usually believe in fate, but hopefully this signing can be good korma.

Good on the ball despite his size apparently.
Needed depth in that position with Ironside and Miller being so different and Miller’s current niggle he’s playing through.
Faal will be quicker than Ironside too you’d expect. His size won’t necessarily make him a target man back to play type.
Scored 10 in 16 at Fylde in National League North.
A few clips of him here:

Can call him Faaland if he goes on a hot streak

Good option for us to have, welcome Modou,

He’ll be 6 foot 7 by the time we kick off on Saturday!
-
I'd raitha we had a tall striker than a short one.
-
Isn’t Ironside supposed to be the back to goal target man?
-
Isn’t Ironside supposed to be the back to goal target man?
Maybe, but through the course of the season, there's no back up for another big lad, so this lad will provide that plus competition. With the rate yellow cards are being issued Ironsides likely to get suspended at some point.
-
Even if Ironside is number 1 for that role, if we’re chasing a goal it’s good to have the option of a unit to chuck on.
-
The signing so far this season have been great. Well and truly backing the manager

I did notice when he came off on Tuesday they put an ice pack straight onto his knee.

You should bring your Naan.
-
Great to see Grant tikka chance with this lad.
Let’s hope he can rice to the occasion.
-
Isn’t Ironside supposed to be the back to goal target man?
Yes. What I’m saying is we shouldn’t pigeon hole this young lad in to that just because he’s 6 foot 5.
-
Is he the Argy bhaji type

Outbid Cheltenham from the look of things, based on the comments.
