Title: David Harle and Ian Snodin
Post by: Draytonian III on August 13, 2023, 07:12:17 pm
Both turn 60 on Tuesday, 15th of August and according to Wikipedia they made nearly same appearances with Ian making 188 plus 2 conference and David 189 . These numbers may need some checking by those more knowledgeable than me

Easy done.

I spent 30 years convinced that Ray Deans's thunderbolt at Millmoor was at the Tivoli End. I can see it now if I close my eyes.

Except apparently it was at the Away End.

What a player Ian Snodin was.
His brother Glynn was half decent too.
Good old days..

That QPR match. At 0-0, Ian played a ball dinked over the top of the defence straight onto Glynn's left peg and he buried it. Glynn was a fraction offside and the goal was disallowed, but the pass! I'd never seen anything like it from a side at our level. What a gem of a player.

Convinced that but for injury Ian would have been an England regular

Ah remember it well, he would have been some centre forward for us but for injury, still see him to speak to now & again.

I have David Harle 219 appearances and 27 goals. (Football League only 189 apps, 23 balls).

Ian Snodin 229 appearances, 29 goals (FL only 188 apps, 27 goals)

Needless to say both made a number of appearances for other clubs.

All their lads are cracking players as well! Jordan offers 1-to-1 coaching sessions and they're incredibly popular. Great lad to boot.

Are you sure that's Dave Harle? Not sure if Dave is still working but up till a few years ago he was digging graves at Rose Hill.

No,it's not one. Totally different Harle.
Up till a few years ago 'the' Dave Harle was showing similar aggression as he used to on the pitch, but in a van.
