Tom Nixon wasn't our only right-back to score a great goal last night.
Charlie Seaman opened his account for Hartlepool in a 3-1 win against Maidenhead with this... https://twitter.com/Official_HUFC/status/1691764452763238809

He will end up being a player Seaman. He’s got something.

He's got spunk.

that comment was a bit below the belt.
-
I think he’s found his level at Hartlepool, in his 30 or so appearances only about 3 were more than 6.5 out of 10
-
He’s not playing RB for Hartlepool he’s playing midfield that’s his position and the way Molyneux plays there is not that much difference in an attacking midfield.
-
Rovers never gave him the chance to play wide midfield, cutting in to get shots away.
Maidstone did that to good effect when he was there.
Why Rovers think he is a right back is just a mystery!
-
McCann might have been a bit premature in releasing Seaman.

Problem is where. At lower level he's good enough going forwards. But at even league 2 level his defensive abilities are just not good enough. That may come in time but the players we have in each position are better.
I'd have been tempted to try him in the 10 role. He's decent with the ball at his feet running and finds a decent pass.
-
Just seen the goal and it doesn’t look like he’s playing right back. Personally I’d have loaned out Taylor and kept Seaman but I’m not sure they’d be many takers of Taylor with his injury record.

Will Flint got his first taste of men's football playing with Goodman for Gainsborough v Ilkeston on loan and did well despite them losing 4-0 after having a man sent off in the first half.
As you can imagine Jack didn't get a lot of service up front but worked hard with Flint playing the full 90 minutes in his first game on loan.

Terrible player. Zero bottle

As I said. He’s got something.
-
He’s playing for one of the larger clubs in National League. Still, he’s got impressive numbers so far.
-
Just remind me is this the free scoring Charlie Seaman this thread is about?
-
Seaman is coming on a bundle.
-
He's found his level, simple as that.

Jack Goodman and Will Flint played for Gainsborough v the money bags in non league of Macclesfield on Saturday Gainsborough losing 3-0.
It was the same problem for Jack in that he didn't have a lot of service but worked hard and did ok.
Wiil however was in the thick of it and did well, had a goal disallowed for off side and had a good game showing at 17 years old he can play at this level.
For anyone interested with little to do tomorrow night and would like to go watch, Gainsborough are at home to Guisley in what should be a tough game for both sides and the added interest of hopefully seeing just how good in their first taste of men's football Jack and Will are doing.
-
Goodman seemed to have bulked up a bit
(In the pre season games) so hopefully he doesn’t get knocked off the ball in the men’s game

Quote I’m not sure you are right but playing in attacking position not full back suits him as it did when he was on loan at Maidstone. I’m not sure he could a worst job than Molyneux is doing

A great result tonight Gainsborough 4 Guisley 0 with both Will Flint and Jack Goodman scoring their first goals in men's football.
Flint capitalised on a half cleared corner and slammed it in from about twelve yards for the second goal, and Jack Goodman intercepted a pass running past the defender and slipped the ball past the keeper as he came out.
Flint had a standout game, looking composed on the ball and won his tackles and headers a very good performance in a tough physical game.
Jack Goodman played the last thirty minutes or so, and didn't get a lot of service' but harried and put defenders under pressure and hunted the ball down well for his goal that he took very well shooting past the advancing keeper on the run.
With no recognised u21s loans like this can only be to the good of the players who look to be relishing the challenge and are making their mark at a good level at a young age in a competitive environment, and hopefully both Gainsborough and the Rovers will gain from the experience our youngsters will get playing at Gainsborough and under a good manager keen to further their careers.
-
That will do their confidence the world of good.
We might even see them back here in January.
-
It’s probably a more competitive level than playing in a U21 league for them too. We would be fielding a u21 team in the bottom level of that game.

Tavs was on the bench for Marske United last night, but I don't think he got on. He has been doing quite well there and he's scored a couple of goals. Jack DeGruchy hasn't played for a few weeks- I think he got injured in that game at Worksop.
